vegan paints?
There are a lot of vegans in my area (and I have a lot of friends who are vegan). Heck I was vegan myself for years!!!
Are there any paints available that are vegan friendly?

Re: vegan paints?
what particular ingredient in the paints is not vegan friendly? My sister is vegan and nothing had jumped out at her when I went through the ingredients list.
Re: vegan paints?

Lol April this was discussed in another post too...but not one specifically on vegan paints. I'll try to find the post though.

SHIMMER discussion
That;s the link to the post...a shorter discussion on vegan makeup is near the end of the thread. I think it would be a good market for vegan and organic paints though, since soooooo many are int it right now...it's like the new "fad".

Re: vegan paints?
The lanolin in all face paints is NOT sheep based. It is artificial/chemical... whatever. But not related to animals at all.

Re: vegan paints?
Besides which, the lanolin from the sheep would come from their wool which is just sheared off of them, but they like it to be.... my sister is vegan, but also spins her own yarn and stuff.
Re: vegan paints?
many vegans are opposed to any animal products. lanolin included (I used to make vegan bodycare products and soaps and people ARE picky!)

Re: vegan paints?
ok, here's what I could find about PEG-75 Lanolin:
PEG Lanolin ingredients are prepared from whole lanolin. Lanolin is the secretory product of sheep sebaceous glands which is obtained from sheered wool. Lanolin and hydrogenated lanolin are reacted with ethylene oxide to form polyethylene glycol lanolin and polyethylene glycol hydrogenated lanolin, respectivley. The numerical value represents the average number of units of ethylene oxide added to each equivalent unit of lanolin to produce the corresponding PEG Lanolin or PEG Hydrogenated Lanolin ingredient.
I don't see any lanolin in the ingredients on my Kryolan metallic paints, but I don't know about their regular colours.

Re: vegan paints?
Thanks so much for the tip Perry and the info! I will check into another brand especially the Kryolan. I just think it would suck to have to turn little ones away because their family is vegan, yk?
I know for some it's not a big deal but these parts are FULL of vegans though!

Re: vegan paints?
I really get ticked when companies claim their products are "lead free".
NOTHING is lead free... NOTHING. Lead is trace in EVERTHING... decades of lead paint, leaded gasoline... etc.etc. You cannot avoid trace lead in anything on this planet.

I so agree! What ticks me off even more is when people or companies claim something is "chemical free". So....like...um....how does that work, then???
I saw a van recently with "Chemical-free window cleaning!" advertised on it. I wonder how they do it without hydrogen dioxide?
