FAB Paints Empty FAB Paints

Post by PaintedFaces Thu Jul 12, 2012 9:47 pm

Has anyone ever tried these? Is there another brand they compare to (like people say DFX and Wolfe are very similar)? I've used DFX, Kryolan and Wolfe. Oh and Snazaroo, but I'm not a fan.

I have used FAB paints..I really love the Glitter Added Paints like GOld Glitter...I got a some when I joined FABATV.com.....I liked the metallic white and I used this purple color...They are a very soft paint kinda like TAG Pearls...I just ordered the white and black..word is that they changed the formula to be close to Wolfe Black and White sooo I thought I would try it out.

Post by PaintedFaces Fri Jul 13, 2012 12:11 am

Thanks guys. When I did a search for "FAB" here on the forum I got nothing, but when I went out to google just now to search, I found a bunch of links to this forum. Weird. Thanks for chiming in. If the smell problems have been sorted out maybe I'll give them a try. Loving the look of the glitter white and silver!

I like the smell of Kryolan and dislike Paradise, so maybe I won't mind the FAB smell anyway.

I don't mind the smell.
They're very soft and great for (background) blending. Linework's not that great, I use different brands for that.

They're softer, like Kryolan. If you push your finger into the middle of them, they'll dent and squish like just like Kryolan.

I have a dark green, orange, and shimmery teal (dolphin?). I REALLY like the teal and the dark green. I would not expect to do linework with them Wolfe brothers, but they're great for blending and dry brushing. The last few I purchased have a markedly reduced smell from the original batch.
The silver is pretty opaque, too. I don't own it, but I played with it at FABAIC recently.

And yes, google searches are much better than the search feature on this site. Even better, try using

search word site:facepaintforum.com

using the site command next to whatever your searching for means you'll only search this forum. It's a handy feature!

I have 4 and they are all nice. The glitter is extra nice! They are very much like Kryolan, but more pigmented then the Interferenz. I purchase paints based on colors, not brand. There are a few unusual colors in FAB Smile

I'm dying to try them, just waiting for Silly Farm to get their shipment in. Some of the colours I've seen are amazing and I really want to give them a try! I'll definitely post a review when I get them.

I have alot of FAB...they are soft-especially the metallic/shimmers. I really love them though. The Magenta Shimmer is amazing as is the ocean shimmer. I use wolfe white & black for line work. I like the scent.

I love them, I made a bunch of girlie split cakes out of them and the colors are so great. They are close to Kryolan or Paradise but really soft, like they squish a ton and you can't apply too much pressure. Great for blending and base work, I don't find they last as long in the heat on my face but a good amount of time. The smell used to be horrible, haven't seen the new batch but the colors are so great and unique you can really look past the smell.

I agree - love them! I'm not crazy about the smell but they do such pretty shimmers and glitter colours that I look past it Smile Def. best for sponge work - I stil with wolfe for line work.

So pretty!

FAB Paints Empty Re: FAB Paints

Post by Miss Ronnie Fri Aug 03, 2012 7:56 am

I am an unofficial connoisseur of FAB paint. I have just about every color. They are now manufacturing them with only the slightest of fragrance.

The shimmer and glitter colors are all gorgeous and there are no other brands on the market that I know of that offer these colors, which, as others have pointed out, are amazing for blending together but less than ideal for line work. The regular colors are vibrant and easy to work with as well and 'okay' for line work.

Wolfe black and white are still my "go to" line work paints, though.

What about the silver?

I saw one of the latest FABA tv vids promoting silver for line work. What do you all think?

I have several silvers and gold, but if there is a better one out there, I'd love to try! Very Happy

Dear CottonKandyClown:
FAB silver is the best silver I have every used.
I used to put Mehron silver powder over my Kryolan Aquacolor cake.
I received it free about two years ago with an order I placed.
It does great line work on the SpideyGuy, especially the black SpideyGuy!
Love it.
Loathe the smell.

Just placed an order of Fab paints- glitter gold, magenta and ziva blue shimmer and the lemon lime. Can't wait to try them. Wish I would have read this thread ahead of time and gotten the silver.

I agree! It dries almost white! Way too pale! I wish Heather would use it in a design so I could get an idea how to use it Rolling Eyes
