UniverSoul Circus Gig
Hi ya'll! I haven't been on in over a week because I've been face painting with The UniverSoul Circus while they were in town! I had so much fun! They have a face painter that travels with them (hopefully she'll be activated soon on the forum as she's very excited to get to know ya'll).
Here's the scoop on them if they are coming to your town. They have 1 face painter(like I said) that travels with them. They like to hire in a 2nd face painter. They charge $10/face & you make $5 of that. Some days are slow (like the school day shows) & some are fast (Friday night, Saturday & Sunday). I worked Thursday night, Friday 2 shows & Sunday Nights show (I was already booked for Saturday & part of Sunday, so my daughter worked the Saturday). I did not make my hourly rate if I included the waiting between shows & waiting for intermission, etc. but it still was good money & a very fun gig. I also got my business card into the hands of every parent that had their child face painted. These were people willing to pay $10 for a face & I'm sure had the $ & would gladly pay to have me face paint at their child's party... So, it was also a great advertising opportunity! I'm glad I did it. In between shows I got to chat & play face painting w/ Ameera Diamond(their face painter). I'd recommend, checking them out if your schedule is free & they come to your town.
Me & Ameera! If you do get to face paint w/ the UniverSoul Circus, say hi to Ameera for me:-)

Re: UniverSoul Circus Gig
I also painted for them last year and had a positive experience. Same as above, I didn't quite make my normal rate, but I learned to just paint before the show and during intermission and not worry about waiting around for the show to end... it wasn't worth the extra hour for another $20. But the people were great to work with, they ran a really smooth event, and at the end of the day you got cash in hand.
