Jumping back into the game after 10 years...
Hi there,
I'm a SAHM mom and military wife and I make holistic and metaphysical jewelry which I sell on Etsy. Years ago, back when I was a highschool student, I was a face-painter at Bush Gardens and through the encouragement of friends and family I'm now working on putting together my own face painting business. I've gifted my services to birthday parties and events for friends, family, local charities and churches in the past but last weekend I had my first paid face painting venue in over a decade. It was SO MUCH FUN! The military housing office had a summer event called "Party in Paradise" for the residents and I comprised a menu of designs to match the theme (My children are being really good guinea pigs but I'm right on the cusp of ruining face painting for them forever, lol) it was just cheek art and the poor kids were sweating the paint off almost as fast as i got it on them but the parents and children seemed to be happy and I got to do over 80 faces in one afternoon!
I'm building a portfolio right now with a wider range of art and I'm still figuring out things like how to classify what services should be included for what price, my set up, my process, etc. I'm super excited about this new venture and since Saturday's event went so well I already have a few more jobs lined up for birthday and holiday parties.
I'm looking forward to learning and sharing on here:)

I think that's the beauty of this business, you can make it as vast or as simple as you wish.

Hi, I am a military wife too, now living in Germany, and guess what!! I become a Exchange concession, so on weekends I go to the base mall and do Face Painting, for now I am the only Face Painter for the American community in my area, but when I went to the biggest american base in Germany to ask if I can put my both there they told me they already have 2 face painters, so I am not the only one doing this business among the military community. As a concession I was able to do 4th july picnic and I had a 2 hour waiting line, now they want for me to get some paper work done so I can be hired for this kind of events and they will pay me my hour rate. So think about how far you can go.
