Thank You Letter Question????
Does anyone send out thank you letters after your face painting parties?
This is something I would like to do because I appriciate their business.
Maybe give them a discount for next time. Would anyone like to share their thank you letter verbage? I need help with wording.
By the way, here is something something I did from Exteme Face Painting.

Re: Thank You Letter Question????
Nice face! Sending a thank you note is a very good idea. No discount though, or they'll expect it every time.
Re: Thank You Letter Question????
This was the end of a letter I wrote to customers who booked me as part of a fundraiser. Maybe you could used these lines or something
"I hope that your experience with me was a good one. I look forward to being a part of your next event.
P.S. If you would like to write a review about my services please visit http://www.gigsalad.com/miss_tanyas_face_painting_easton/write_review
Thank you for everything!"

I send these in a very bright polka dot envelope. Colours match the cards.

Re: Thank You Letter Question????
Glitterfly, I LOVE those! Very nice! I send a thank you and a satisfaction survey.
Re: Thank You Letter Question????
I have postcards made up like our biz cards, and there is a small spot for a quick handwritten "thank you" No discounts, tho. Also, some clients have been strictly over email, so in those cases, I just send a thank you email. I like to add specific things I enjoyed about their event, and always attach any photos I took(with permission).

Re: Thank You Letter Question????
I have some custom folded thank you cards. I just write a brief note or memory from the event. I also attach a magnetic business card as well. No discount.
Re: Thank You Letter Question????
Almost all of my bookings are through email, so I send a customized thank you that includes what I enjoyed and any photos that I have (with permission). No discounts, as I agree, they will expect it. I do ask if they want to post a review and include a link. I ask if they would like to join my monthly mailing list for future deals.

Re: Thank You Letter Question????
I do post cards too...You can make one side printed and professional, but still keep the personal touch of a written note on the back. I usually write something like "Dear [client], I just wanted to say thank you very much for inviting me to be a part of your event! I really enjoyed painting the kids and hope they had a wonderful time as well!" I don't offer discounts either. Sometimes I do both post cards and email. Hand written letters are rare these days so it's a nice touch, but the nice thing about email is you often get a reply back about how great the face painting was. Then I have a quote from a customer to add to my "client testimonials" page on my website! ;-) I do also design Christmas cards and send them out to each client (or at least my bigger/regular clients). Acts as another thank you and a reminder that they may want to book me again!

That is very nice. I think when I reorder stationary I'm going to do something like that!
Re: Thank You Letter Question????
Oh I love the idea of Christmas cards- sent out early they would be an excellent reminder to book for office parties/ New Years, not to mention the slow months that seem to fall right after. Adding it to my (ever expanding!) list.

Nice robotic face!
Glitterfly, I also love the Thank You Letter you use!

Re: Thank You Letter Question????
I send a thank you postcard to the child - I LOVED getting mail when I was a kid! - so I'm sure that the kids who are old enough, get a kick out of getting a handwritten postcard in the mail.
To new clients I email a quick thank you along with a satisfaction questionnaire. Not everyone gets back to me, but I've been really pleased with the responses so far
I also send out holiday cards. Store bought so far, but am considering customized ones for 2012.

Re: Thank You Letter Question????
Wow that is certainly a great idea to sent them to that child. Mom would love that you thought to address it to them. I'm going to adopt this suggestion if you don't mind.

Re: Thank You Letter Question????
I send postcards from vistaprint (whenever they go on sale, I restock)... They say to bring it to any of my public appearances to get $2 off face painting and asks them to tell all their friends about how great their party was.

Go for it! I've had some parents email me after to tell me how much their child adored getting it. I know when I would get mail it was SO special - I still have a box full of childhood letters etc!
Re: Thank You Letter Question????
Glitterfly..I love those Thank You cards..I love the wording. I never can come up with a nice few lines...it always sounds sooo "Hokey" I may have to try to come up with some wording other than "HEY THANKS FOR YOUR BUSINESS"...just kidding.
Re: Thank You Letter Question????
Oh my heck this thread is AWESOME!!! I am totally going to send a card to the little girl from my last princess party. I will include the picture I took of the two of us. Fabulous idea!! What little girl doesn't want to get a personal letter from a princess?
Re: Thank You Letter Question????
I have been sending Thank You cards to the Birthday Girl/Boy ever since I asked the question. I received at least 3 referrals from each of the clients. The little things count and bring you more business. Thanks for the ideas everyone.

Re: Thank You Letter Question????
I love the idea of sending the card to the kid! I take photos at all my events if possible (I always get permission first) and post them on my blog. I always send a thank you email and a link to the photos after a gig. Most people love the pictures, and I encourage them to download them for personal use.
I also provide links to my review pages with this line, "As you can imagine, reviews are important in a business like mine. I would love to hear your honest feedback at (link) or (link)." And so on.

I love the idea of sending the card/letter to the child, I always loved getting mail as a kid! I'll have to start doing that... And the idea of writing a more personal message on the back of a card, great idea!
