Okay, yes, Shanon said she was deathly ill (I'm assuming just a really bad infection or cold) and she wasn't going to touch any of her paints until she felt better--let's all send out a prayer for her shall we? Looking forward to the Cubeism---should be great!!!

LOL! I pmed her & she's just sick(coughing up a lung type), not dieing(but felt like she was)... so... her bach blue is still locked up for her safe use

Mee too.... grew up with my dad teaching me to draw.... He could of been painting with Disney.... if it weren't for his mother.... Disney invited him, cuz he won a contest when he was 17, They told him when he was 18 he could come and work with them... but his mom threw the invite away, and forbid him... Only because he was taking care of his siblings... 6 of them... He was an amazing artist...

What a shame skidzz---my husband had that same problem in high school--he was in love with art, and did something stupid against what the art teacher said on his project, so he got a D in the class, and his counselor banned him from taking anymore art classes--he's so talented, and now is in college doing what he loves--funny, he's not very good at facepainting though!! He needs practice, because I could sure use his help!

LMAO!!! I hear you!!! I tried taking art in middle school... it was an atrocity... I didn't ever get the project done the way the teacher wanted. The thing that always ticked me off was... what makes them so high and mighty saying that my art wasn't art!!! Just cuz you are teaching doesn't make you The S*** U know!!!

i wanna play too...This will be my first tag event and loving the subject of it. I think it's amazing how u's(from philly slang lol) always find ways of challenging yourselves and others. It is making me take this to a whole new level. I'm getting a in-house practice face on sat as my 5y/o niece is moving in..YAY My college age son is dancing in the background... any way i'm in, i'm in, I'm in!

I know right?! Art was required in my middle school, and I wasn't very good at it... Okay, well, I should say I didn't get the greatest grades because I always wanted to the the projects some other way... MY way, which ultimately worked better... at least I thought so. I was getting B's and C's in art and I was a straight A student ! I hated it! So when I got to high school I didn't take a singe art class... that is until the last semester of my senior year, and that's because I dropped AP Calculus and since I could not have a free period... They had to put me in the only class that had an opening, and it was 2-D Art that was all about drawing.

Now, granted I'm good at drawing in black and white. But idk if the teach held me to a higher standard or what, but when we were doing portraits, he counted my drawing down because the whites of the eyes in my pic were "too white" WHAT THE HECK!? THEY'RE WHITE!!!! So yeah, I can totally relate to the stupid school art teachers.... they should pass everyone because really, who DOES give them the authority to decide what art is??? Heck, some kid could be making a wonderful abstract or surrealism painting but since it's not the boring still life in front of him he's getting a bad grade? that never sat well with me.

Art is in the eye of the beholder 'nuff said.
