Black Laptop Cases Opinion Vs Scrapbooking cases...

As you can see, these work out perfectly because you can fit paint on both sides and it still closes, but it's not so deep you can't work out of it.

So is that a scrapbook case then? or a sewing case? I had this awsome shiny aluminum case (it was full of gell pens that I just pulled out and gave to my daughter)- the perfect depth to hold velcroed paints on both sides. It looked so snazzy! but- my husband knocked it down off the shelf and completely broke the hinges! aarg! So now I have to replace it, *boo* and I'm stuck between getting another one of these or go with the plastic case that can probably hold up to a fall off the shelf. Keeping in mind just how cool it looks-- What would you do?

It depends on if you are planning to add more colors to your kit. If not, I would get the same one, If you are, I would get the plastic one. I can fit at least 32 paints in my plastic ones.

I think I asked before, but where did you get this exact case? I went to Micheals and all the cases seemed so deep and didn't have a handle on them. They were for scrapbooking. I REALLY want the kind you have, but can't seem to locate one. Is it an actual sewing item? Scrapbook item? Other?? Perhaps this may be only available in the states? If I actually knew what it was I have no problem checking ebay or wherever to see if I can order it. It would fit great in the FATMAX I bought today!! *YAY*

I bought it in the craft section at Walmart. It is a scrapbooking case. A lot of people haven't been able to find them at their local store and they don't sell them online. I haven't found anymore after I bought these. I think other people have found things similar though.

Because the hinge isn't even between the top and bottom in the scrapbook case it seems like the paints in the top half would be slantwise. Does that bother you at all?

In mine there's only about a half inch difference so I hardly notice it.

Since I got a couple of pm requests for a picture, I'll just post it here. This is one of my jewelry supply boxes that I use. This was the moshposh kit I brought to Fabbulas last year, normally, the boxes are more organized (Kryolan in one lid, Paradise in another, Same for DFX and Tag) and my splits are in a separate case. Since I was packing light for the convention, I only brough one case and just tossed in my favorites (a little bit of everything). The paint pots each have a neodymium magnet on the bottom and the halves of the case have a sheet of steel affixed. When I need to set up, I just pop the latches and open them. If I'm really limited in space, I can just use one section. It works for me because I can't do the FatMax...I'm mostly legs at 5'9 and can't stand reaching down.
