The crazy things Face Painters use
I think it's funny the crazy things we use! Here are the things I can think of:
Fish filter (for stippling sponge)
Tack sponges
camping chair (tall directors chair)
sponge brushes (for regular/house painting)
water bottle-shaped ice tray
baby wipes
tool box (Fat Max)
Maybe I'm weird but it amuses me. Can you think of any others?

POPSICLE ice tray thingy (makes popsicles) and people use it as a brush holder
Re: The crazy things Face Painters use
Qtips, mesh laundry bag, ... I suppose my letter opener and sharpies are more for the balloon side of things.
Re: The crazy things Face Painters use
blush brush for shimmers
Yes, the popsicle ice tray
fanny pack for $
My silverware came in a metal carrying case and I transformed it into my all in one paint & brush carrying case. (when open I hold my brushes in the slits where the butter knives use to be).

Re: The crazy things Face Painters use
I know a painter who uses those pink hair roller sponges.
I'm a proud user of high powered magnets
Then there's the repurposed saline solution bottle a few painters I know use for water control...

I use a baby bottle/accessory dishwasher basket to transport my sponges and spray bottle -- http://tinyurl.com/spongebasket --which also works to hold brushes (handle down, stuck between the sponges) -- I picked it up at Goodwill where I'm always on the lookout for items I can repurpose for my kit.

Re: The crazy things Face Painters use
Acrylic milkshake glasses for brushes, A4 paper holder for pallet.
Re: The crazy things Face Painters use
Please excuse my messy kit... this was taken in the midst of a company picnic. It's nothing special, but my cart has wire across the top rather than a solid surface, so I cut a gray foam floormat to size and placed it over the top to hold my paints and things. You can just see it underneath my palette.

Re: The crazy things Face Painters use
I use a dollar store thermal lunch sack for my trash(used baby wipes, etc). I hang it off the side of my directors chair.
I carry my water in a 5 gallon ice cream bucket & have a 2nd one to dump my old water into(my kids had fun emptying these containers).
I use Easter Egg dying cups for my rinse water.
I use the mesh bags ballet pointe shoes come in for my sponges.
I use a kabuki brush to cover beards or men's faces w/ a lot of stubble.
Foam Puzzle mats for under my feet to keep things cushy.

Re: The crazy things Face Painters use
The picks are great for unclogging nozzles, picking up tiny things, scrapping out threads of lids, prying off glue lids, applying fine lines of blood (fake blood!! But if you press hard enough.... )
The scrapers useful too.
I bought a couple sets and my dentist also gives me bent and broken ones...

That's a great idea!! I've been using an empty section of my fatmax but I don't like it (gets all painty in there) so I've been planning to sew myself a small bag but this would be much easier.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned these hardware store items that I use often - zip ties and bungee cords.
Re: The crazy things Face Painters use
I need to somehow organize my fat max better because it seems I am running out of room. LOL! How can that be it is huge??? I use Zip ties, I keep a bag of rubber bands for whatever including to tie hair back, and most everything else mentioned on here. I also use larger freezer bags to put my dirty sponges in at the end of the day. We are just ingenious people to use regular items for our work. I even picked up a few more ideas to try.
Re: The crazy things Face Painters use
