new little face painters
I just had to share some pictures. After watching fabatv, Heathers class, and how young she started face painting I told my 11 year old she needed to start learning now so she can face paint for us in a few years. She was pretty excited and so I bought her a little tulip kit at micheals so she could start practicing (I am kind of stingy with my kit). Needless to say, my other two daughters also wanted to "practice" and so I got some pictures of them. I can hardly get them to stop and my youngest is a little messy, but how do you say no.
On another note, I know there have been quite a few posts about this but the tulip colors do stain very bad especially the darker blue color. I would never put that color on a clients face.

Way to make room for your kids and their interests. We are living in a home full of marker smears and paint streaks. My son is only three, but like you "how can you say no?"
Re: new little face painters
My daughter started face painting when I did(she was 12). Now she's 18 & a very good face painter & henna artist. As soon as she has her drivers licence, she'll be doing gigs on her own. She has done a few when Dad's driven her & she even rescued a Chic-Fil-A on Princess & Pirate Nite when their entertainment canceled 2 hrs before the event!

So sweet. I think it is great to get the kids interested. My daughter has the Snazaroo pro kit that has the 54 colors in it. We bought her stencils and she does great with them but is good at free hand. She painted her first big gig at a city festival and did $3 stencil art. Pretty good I must say. She is 11. So kudos to you and your family! That is awesome.

Re: new little face painters
This is great! Our oldest started face painting with me when she was 13. She's 16 now and does a great job! Our youngest started face painting when she was 7. While she loves painting, she has just been introduced to glitter tattoos and has decided she wants to be the tattoo artist! Our 15 year old son started doing balloons sporadically with Dad last year. He's not really excited about it, but he does it when needed. Our 13 year old son is quite the performer and likes to do magic and juggle. We are now looking into get a couple of unicycles as both boys want to learn how to do that!
This makes me wonder...what are the child labor laws in NY? At what age can the kids officially "work" for themselves as independent contractors or be our helpers at parties and fairs? Are there hourly requirements? Hmm. I should look into that.

Re: new little face painters
My 7yo has sat patiently through endless hours of mum using her face as a canvas and after months of her begging, finally today I relinquished control of my oh-so-precious kit... yes, I'm mean I know.
This is her first ever face painting effort... I told her if she did a good job on me I would show it off to "all the other face painters in the world" (that means you) So here it is....

Justine, please tell your daughter she is a great facepainter! She really did a very good job. Love the blue with that white swirls.
