Re: Best tips for speedy holiday painting
I took Pshurs holiday design class at FAB and got some good ideas... I'm not sure if I'm alowed to post the pics here or not though? I know there are some unspoken (and sometimes spoken) rules. Metina, what do you think?
Re: Best tips for speedy holiday painting
Amanda check under the thread pics from fabbulas, I posted pics from that class, but you may have ones that I don't.

I keep checking this thread because I have multiple day "Breakfast with Santa" where I will *try* to paint 25 to 30 an hour, for 3 hours. OMG, I will have everything rehearsed. Oh, and a line manager
Re: Best tips for speedy holiday painting
Great designs! I just love the little Santa face.

Re: Best tips for speedy holiday painting
This is my most popular (and so super quick with a 1" flat brush for the base) girl design - "Winter Princess". Not a boy design, but worth sharing for the speed as I can knock it out in about 30 seconds. I change it up every time, so sometimes I use snowflakes (which I suck at, so I now use a stencil) and sometimes a few vertical to horizontal teardrops.
Sorry, I don't remember where I found the idea for this or the ones below...
Here are a few more I have done that are fairly quick. Sorry they are so big!
I haven't sat down and actually painted anything, but a few boy ideas I had were a batman and spiderman with some holly or a candycane somewhere. I have a few dragons that I use the holiday colors to do instead of black/other colors. Same with my tigers, which are always a hit.
I have a super easy dragon mask that I do in holiday colors, inspired from SillyFarm. When I have more time, I fill in the eyes with color and outline the dragon face, eyes, etc.
If anyone wants a larger photo of a small one above, I'm happy to share.

How cute are those bells!? Love them all
What brand of metallics do you use?

Re: Best tips for speedy holiday painting
Thanks =). I think most of the colors on these pics are Paradise. I switched the winter princess design to Wolfe metallic blue as it's a deeper color, but I still use the Paradise for designs that I don't want to be so bold. I also switched to Wolfe gold as I think it's easier to use. Paradise metallics take some practice with. The butterfly is a rainbow cake from SillyFarm and the dragon mask is an arty cake - I think it's the Holly cake, but I'm not sure.

Re: Best tips for speedy holiday painting
I did a poinsettia on my daughter's eye. I'll have to download the pic I took with my phone tomorrow. Not even sure if the photo quality is any good, but the flower was quick and easy. I found it on a youtube tutorial. I don't remember who did it, because I was following link after link and just landed there....
Ha! Found the video!

Re: Best tips for speedy holiday painting
Here's some designs I plan on using this weekend
Boys are hard to please so I figured I'd use the same old designs and throw in a Santa hat or some holly and call it good!

Re: Best tips for speedy holiday painting
Lizz you're a genius! I've been struggling all day with ideas for boys! I did a Christmas party on Sunday and still painted sharks...I shoulda put on a Santa hat! Thanks!
Re: Best tips for speedy holiday painting
I agree! Great idea!! Sharks and dinos with Santa hats!! I think I might try angel wings and a halo! Probably wouldn't look right though.
