Just wondering if anyone has tried a roll up table and what their thoughts were for using it for face painting.

I've been looking at this one. It has a second shelf to put items on that you need, but a bit out of the way. A little more expensive though. I got a chair instead. This will have to wait until I make more money

With a roll up table, I thought that maybe stuff may spill between the slats as I'm not sure if there's a space between the slats or not. Hard to tell from the picture.

If its the same as the one I had (until a drunken rugby player STOOD ON IT after we packed away the kit for the night and left our tables in the supposedly locked booths) its a gem.

The slats had a crack between, that's all. And I always used a tablecloth so no problems.

miss it and they seem to have stopped selling them here in Hk. Was SO handy & light - rolled into a tube bag.

Go for it...so easy/ handy to have. So many times you get promised a table and arr to find its ankle high or way too big or -once - a priceless antique!!!

At the moment I'm terrifying the street vendors (pushing insurance/ phones etc) who used to use them by pouncing on their stalls to see if they have the tabe I want and where they got it. Annoying thing is they sell them in UK camping shops but seems pointless shipping 1 out when the MAKE them here!!!

ever since I had a spill on my table I started using one of those big over-sized thick colorful beach towels as my table cloth. There won't be anymore runaway streams IF that ever happens again lol. Works great, fits over the whole table and I use to have a paper towel handy to dab my brush if it was too wet but now I just dab anywhere on my beach towel.

btw- that roll up table looks neat, I'm still searching for the perfect table to fit in my pocket Smile

"New Pocket Tables are 34" X 34", but when rolled up correctly, can fit perfectly into the back pocket of your tightest jeans!"

Hahahaha. Let us know if you find it Razz

I tried seeing how much it would be to ship out to Canada - and they won't even do it. Ha. I don't need a table right now, but I may rent a PO Box for that!

most of the time I use one of those super cheap plastic tablecloths I get at the Dollar Store (Dollar Tree where I live... I seriously probably need a 12 step program for how obsessed I am with the DT!!!! hahaha)

They wipe up a few times then you can just toss it. I cut them apart too to cover smaller areas. Sometimes I set up on a provided table and put up a display showing my full parties that I do and I use a real tablecloth to look classy. I just cover the entire end with the cheapy so I don't ruin the real fabric one.

I need a pocket table too girls. And when is it gonna be possible to just teleport to my gig with all my stuff? No carrying!

I hear you....

I checked around and there is a US storage warehouse across the border (only about 30 min from where I live) so at the moment I have a director's chair making it's way from California.... right now it's in Billings Montana. It was going to cost me about $200/chair (purchase price was only $74) after customs, duty, brokerage fees and shipping.... so I'll have to figure out if I saved myself any money when I get the chair. Fed EX sure is fast though... only ordered the chair on Tuesday!

Ohhhhh aren't you a clever one! Very Happy Little hard to find a beach towel when it's -20 degrees celcius... but I'll definitely keep that in mind this spring. A little elastic around the corners would keep it from flapping too Idea .

I use this table and love it. It fits in a bag that you wear on shoulder. I put a velvet black cloth on it. I also put PVC pipes on the legs to make it taller. I got mine from Target in the camping section.

Good. I'm glad that I'm getting the thumbs up from people. I ordered it and hopefully I will have it next week. I keep seeking the perfect set up...... I'll let everyone know when I find it..... sigh! confused

I would love to see your PVC extensions. (Just had one of those goofy thoughts.... PVC hair extensions --- a handyman's version of dreadlocks! lol)

So, anyway, if you happen to have a picture I would love to see it. I made a pretty sturdy display board out of pvc... I LOVE hardware stores! lol

I have that table, only I have the slightly larger rectangular one....the square on is too small for all my stuff...LOL
I use it when I do festivals or events where a table is not being provided.
The slats only have a small crack between them, as the elastic banding holds them pretty close together, but a table cloth completely eliminates any problems there. It is also easy to transport and carry, and really easy to set up.
I don't use mine alot because I require a table be provided (and I specify dimension requirements) for any paid event. If they can't provide a table and need me to provide it, I charge an extra setup fee for having to haul a table with me. For events that are iffy, I keep it in the truck just in case I need it.

Well, I got my table last week. Haven't had a chance to use it though. It's painted aluminum rather than silver and the table top doesn't really roll up it kind of folds up like a paper fan. It actually came in 4 pieces: the table top, 2 support bars and the extendable base/legs. There is a bit of assembly to put it together everytime, but I think it will work. I'd like to know the weight capacity of it (not like I'm planning on dancing on it anytime soon! lol) It is very light and compact. It should be large enough as I have a Fat Max that I plan on working out of (thanks to some very clever people on this site!)

Here is a picture of an extention leg up against a chair to give you an idea of the size. I'm 5'9" and this size table works well with me. Sorry if I'm posting the pictures wrong. It took me forever just to get these up. I think I'm still doing to wrong. Sorry. https://i.servimg.com/u/f67/13/97/02/41/march_16.jpg
