Re: Show and Tell #5 August - October 2013
Had a gig this past Saturday that was my first result from a prior party!!! YAY!!! My prior client from the first birthday party I did was there with her 2 daughters:) Any who...I did slight changes in my half skull that made me just LOVE it!! I adapted from a rainbow on an arm from someone on here to flowers on the arm. That one is SUPER popular, especially this last gig...lol. Here are some pics from the gig!
There is more on my FB page! The BD Girl was so adorable in her ponytails and tootoo. LOL sure I spelled that wrong:P

Really nice Ruby! Especially love the flowers (cos I am a flower lover ) I've done those before and the girls really like them.

Ruby i love your skull!!! And those flowers!! I going to go and see your Facebook for sure!! Did you use a 3/4 brush for those beautiful flowers?
Re: Show and Tell #5 August - October 2013
Thank you :-) Yeah I used the 3/4 flat. Just used my 50% off coupon for Michaels last night and bought a 1 inch flat so I can use the whole arty cakes :-) Can't wait to try it out!

Awe <3 Thank you so much, I'm really trying to get this addiction of mine in check. Who would of known there were so many hoops to get the business side going
Re: Show and Tell #5 August - October 2013
Love all the colors you used Katurah, so pretty! And Ruby, the half skull is awesome and I really love the arm piece, what a beautiful split cake!
Here's my practice for today

Katurah, LOVELY painting...and you are such a beautiful girl! and you just radiate joy I see you've got your New business name AND website. Your website is really nice...love the colorful heading and you've got a great gallery! I hadn't seen that gold mask before that you have on the "About" page...very pretty.
ThouArtBeautiful, love love love your flowers!!! I've not seen that kind of flower (I think it starts with an A, but can't remember it right now ) in facepaint before. You made them beautiful with great shading, without being overly detailed...a perfect flower to paint, IMO. Btw, have you been to the Holmes exhibit at OMSI yet? (I know that would be better asked in the breakroom, but oh well )

I just got back from Hawaii and I have flowers on the brain I was trying out my tag one-strokes (unicorn and snake) just loaded it without the blue. I haven't seen the Holmes exhibit but now I'll have look it up and see.

Re: Show and Tell #5 August - October 2013
Nice pic's people!! Way to many for me to comment on, I haven't been posting much, but still happily painting away. These were my first try with starblends Still need practice but I like using them I like how easy they washed off too.
I think the half face was my first try with powder so is a bit patchy. Second time I used glycerine and took much better
And do you like the way I added wrinkles and extra chins? Baahahaha..

Nikkili, really nicely done. I especially like that first one, some GREAT detail on that! The cute little boy (is that your son?) must have Loved that face, knowing how boys like to be scary. You did a nice job on that one too!
Silversky, I wondered where you'd gone Nice to have you back! Wow! you did nice work on those, especially like the teeth in the first one. Perfect detail. ...and I must have the same talent, mine get wrinkles and double chins
Hope you'll keep popping back in!

Thouartbeautiful Thank you! All of the colors are a mix of several brands. I love using bright bold colors in my paintings
Love your paints as well, especially the flowers, very realistic!
Valerie Thank you!
Yes, I'm trying to re-brand and starts new with a new name, website, cards, banner, everything
And the gold mask was done a few months ago I believe, over the summer. Practice for the opening party at FABAIC
Nikki Very nice paintings!
Silversky Lovely skulls!! A year and a half of painting and I've only ever attempted one and failed miserably because it was a one wriggly 5 year old ;( I plan to at least make another attempt before Halloween yours are fab!!

Re: Show and Tell #5 August - October 2013
I did another ppf this weekend. It was an Arts and crafts bazaar, and as it turned out not greatly advertised as it was supposed to have been. Honestly, I kinda felt duped by the event staff afterwards, as when i called a month ago about a spce at the event, i was told they were advertising all over the place to ensure a big turn out, and that there were sure to be a big turn out of parents and kids ( not that i think that face painting is just for children, but apparently, most adults do think so.) So, during the two days of the event, i painted only around 10-15 faces, including my own.
I will say that there was another face painter there and we chatted alot during the two days and she only did about 6 faces.
so here are some faces, and some pieces i did this weekend. (Im the half face rainbow tiger paint. )

Re: Show and Tell #5 August - October 2013
ABMN Nice work! that is a fabulous 1/2 tiger you did on yourself, love the eye and the 'sparkles.' I especially like your hello kitties too. In a business I had before I remember being "boondoggled" by a few events that misrepresented their scope...very disappointing to go to all the set up and they don't 'deliver' the customers. Nice you got to visit with the other face painter though, always good to make friends and maybe have someone you can jam with later, or cover gigs for each other in emergencies...
Thanks for sharing your work with us!
Oh, forgot the say how I like that little tropical scene you did on the arm!

Re: Show and Tell #5 August - October 2013
thanks guys! I'm really trying to work on steady line work... i find its hardest painting the left side of the face because i'r right handed, but i've found that if i stand up and kinda bend over their shoulder upsdde down, it's a little easier, though kinda backwards lol.

Re: Show and Tell #5 August - October 2013
I love attempting a request even if I have no idea what it should be. Then I google it and find out if I got it right or wrong.lol. a little game for myself.
Spidergirl....Cute but not quite girly enough....
Chantal miss yoko nailed it with the raspberry and flowers
This was my unicorn all in 100% snazaroo! Now that I've got some other brands in my kit, I'm gonna redo it....just need a willing victim

Re: Show and Tell #5 August - October 2013
Silversky, very nice shading, I'm trying to get the knack of that (not my strong suit).
ABMN that looks like it was so much fun! I haven't gotten to do a PPF event yet and am really nervous! I'm glad to hear you had another face painter to talk to and was fun! You prompted me to buy the Wolfe Neon Rainbow and I'm trying it out now
Nikkili, adorable unicorn! I've been seeing a lot of flowers on some of the spider girls and really dazzles it up, gonna try one myself soon.
