Just ordered my first directors chair from overstock! I'm really excited!! The chair itself probably isn't the strongest quality but not bad for the price. Chair is on sale for $58, plus free shipping (May 4th 2012). I can't take the back pain coming home from parties and my neck...

Looks almost exactly like my chairs ( mine have the storage under the seat, and one of them is black...) I've had one for 14 years and the other for 8... both well used, large adults, wear and tear. Took them to a shoemaker last fall to get the zippers in the storage and the carrying straps redone.

I paid $198 and $85 for mine... so that is a really good price!

Wow, shannon....14 years and the chair still holds. I hope to get a year out of mine, before I buy my second one (hopefully of better quality). So out of your two chairs, which is your favorite? The pros & cons?

They are the same ... just one minor difference - the footrest bar. On the old one it rests on a "screw" that protrudes from the leg, and on the new (red) one it has a curved arm that fits and holds the footrest bar. On the old chair people are always accidentally kicking the bar off and it drops.

The old one I bought at a theatrical supply store in Vancouver, the red one I bought at a convention on the last day "sale" as the vendor didn't want to pack them home. A pain to get home by air though!!

This is my older chair - you can see the gaping zipper on the storage pocket, since repaired and replaced.

My chair is exactly like yours except for the color and I've had mine for a year now. I've painted pregnant women, lots of adults and kids, and it still shows no signs of wear and tear. Mine was on sale on Amazon for $38. I bought the last one and they never sold them again. It was one of the best purchases I've ever made!

I use mine for make-up and adult only FP gigs. No problems with stability at all - on solid floors. I don't use them outside.

And I don't use them with kids. For kid jobs I sit.

I have got to do something different than my current sitting and painting. After a long week at work, my back is already sore to begin with.

I love Shannon's & Whitney's personalized chairs, great idea! Guess I'm stuck with "Coca~Cola" for now. Thanks for sharing your pics.
