I am worried...
hillbillydiva lives in the Branson area and they had a bad tornado roll through there with many casualties and a lot of damage. I hope she is alright! Please put your best thoughts out to her!!!!!!!
Re: I am worried...
Unless you have kids I bet painters grab their kit when they make a run for the storm cellar. Lived through several and it is heartbreaking to see the devastation. Sending good thoughts her way.
Re: I am worried...
Praying for all who had to endure severe storms/tornadoes last night.

Re: I am worried...
Glad to see you are OK Martha. I heard that the Tourist area in Branson was hit hard, and that there were not any fatalities there. I hope that was right, at least about the fatalilites.
Bless all those in the whole area. Looks really bad.

Re: I am worried...
We didn't get any of the weather in my area. Looks like a LOT of damage in Branson but thankfully no loss of life there.

Re: I am worried...
She's fine, I just got off the phone with her.
The town next to her got hit pretty bad and Bransen got hit bad but her town is alright.
She is ok and her friends are ok, but her internet is down. She'll check in when it comes back on.

Re: I am worried...
We're right on the Missouri/Arkansas border- we were awake and out on the porch when it went through here right before it hit Branson... trees down and branches down in the ravine behind us but it must have been just forming as it went by. Glad to hear she's okay- I've been worried....
Re: I am worried...
So glad hillbillydiva is ok. Prayers are being sent up for everyone who is facing disasters, loss of homes, jobs, family members, etc.
These are hard times we are living in and we need to help lift up anyone we can, including the animals.

Re: I am worried...
We finally got internet back. We're all fine and no damage to the house. The town just north of us Kimberling City had 28 homes destroyed and several homes and businesses severally damaged. It hit the 76 strip and the Landing in Branson. I'll have pictures as soon as my daughter sends me the pics from her cell phone we drove up most of the strip last night to go to alley meeting. Big school gig tonight a hour and a half away. Got to get ready.
Re: I am worried...
Oh and thank you all for worrying about me. It's nice to know you have good friends no matter where you go in the world.

Re: I am worried...
The first thing I thought of when I heard Branson, we Oh, Hillbillydiva...had the same thoughts for Martha and Squiggie, knowing that they are in the same neck of the woods. Glad everyone is safe. Crazy weather.
Such a nice community this is, I am so glad to be part of it.

Re: I am worried...
We going back to Branson tomorrow and take some more pictures. When My Daughter and I went Thursday they still wouldn't let us onto a 15 to 20 block radiate of the 76 strip where the worst damage was. Thank God no one died or was seriously injured. That is the true miracle when you see the damage. Anyone that knows Branson knows you have business that date back to the 50's right next to thinks that have been built in the last 5 years. Really bummed it took out the only big shop to buy sewing material in the area and the last doll shop in Branson. Life will go on though it only damaged 4 theaters and 14 motels. 3 of the 4 theaters will be open by the end of March after roof and glass repairs are done. The Branson Variety Theater will take much longer time to repair.
Re: I am worried...
My pastor and his wife were up there at the time for a vacation at Big Cedar. Beverly said it was so strange the way the tornado zig-zagged
its way through - leaving some buildings virtually untouched and completely destroying others. So glad you are safe!

Re: I am worried...
I'm glad you are safe & sound. Be praying for all those effected by the storms over the last few days. Many were not so lucky...
I have friends that run a disaster relief org & have been on the ground in varies towns since the devastation began. They go in & chain saw trees, clear out areas, etc for people who can't do it themselves(the elderly, etc).

I've been on a disaster relief team as well Linda. The devastation a tornado leaves in its wake is something you don't quickly forget!

Re: I am worried...
I survived Hurricane Hugo in Charleston, SC in 1989. The devastation was unbelievable. It's always made me more conscious of others when tragedy strikes.
Re: I am worried...
Wow, can't beleive I"m just now seeing this thread! I was worried too when I heard. I knew we had a couple members from that area, simply because I know the area and when I see their "Location" tags I think 'oh hey, I know that place!"
See, my boyfriend's dad and soon-to-be-stepmom were staying there in a hotel when the tornado went through, and when I saw it on the news I about had a heart attack. They're okay, thank goodness... but they're car was heavily damaged by debris. So glad to hear everyone's okay though!
