eBay Glitter

Has anyone ordered glitter on ebay? I have found several sellers (mostly from china) that have sets of 30 glitters for around $15-20 after shipping.

They are listed with various names including cosmetic glitter, glitter dust, powder dust, etc.

Would these be safe to use for glitter tattoos?

I found a thread about the moonlight kits, and it seems that those who posted liked the kits.

What is the difference between mineral glitter and cosmetic glitter?

I am assuming that mineral glitter must be referring to micas. Cosmetic glitter should be made of polyester and of a specific cut so that sharp edges are minimized. Has to be of a certain size as well to be safe to use around the eyes. Just be sure that you know what you are using. Cheap doesn't necessarily mean safe.

For my experience nail art glitter its no good for skin, I believe its a little bit bigger and it itches and fall of the glue so quick.

glitter tattoos aren't meant for the face.

I only use cosmetic glitters for any glitter tatts as its likely it will end up in clothes/ bes sheets and could get into eyes... not funny even with cosmetic grade but craft etc glitters can apparantly scratch eyeballs like tiny wee razor blades as they are basically metal flakes.

Having lived & worked in Hong Kong (and even when looking at UK ebay sellers) I would only buy glitter I had seen samples of AND they could prove was cosmetic grade. It's not such a bargain if its not safe/ not that good/ not what you want. As others here said elsewhere, all are not the same and its very hard to photo the sparkle- or lack of;)

Some cosmetic glitters are mica ( a mineral), at cosmetic grade its in a lot of eyeshadow etc.
