Beautiful lace gloves for the party!
Hi guys
Decided to expand my party repertoire a bit. So far I've only been doing pretty and swirly eye designs for the ladies. Then last Halloween I found out that people are willing to pay good money for private bookings (you know 1 or 2 people come to your house and get a more elaborate design) and they tip very generous too. So I thought .... hmmm ... what can I offer besides just eye designs that will fit perfectly to ..say.. a masquerade party. And then it hit me! Lace gloves! They're pretty, cool and if you highlight and shadow just right you can fool everyone at the party
So I watched Pam Trent on FABA where she gives a short intro to lace techniques (very short) and I took it and tweeked it and made it my own
Here's my first ever lace glove with a blue ribbon. Hope you like it and any critique is welcome!

Bonjour,
je suis admirative.
your job is very nice and it's a good and funny idea. No need to buy or rent something special for masquerade, you have all ( or near ) in your case !
Only one thing: not wash hands ;- ) !

I love it, but I agree with Marie about the hand washing thing. Also, what if they are holding a cup that has a lot of condensation on it? That could get pretty messy.
What if you did like a lace cuff that ended at the wrists? That way they could still wash their hands after visiting the bathroom, and anything that the held wouldn't bother the paint.

Its awesome artwork, but I agree with the wrist thing. Washing hands is to important to skip it. Also, IMO I would stay away from bows unless they are tight lil bow ties or something. I would be consciously holding my hands up because the ribbons are 'dropping' the wrong way. otherwise is look amazing!! dont get me wrong, put that sucker with a painted corset top or a fancy painted necklace and WOWZA!!
Re: Beautiful lace gloves for the party!
I just love it, gonna give it a try sometime, if you don't mind?!
Re: Beautiful lace gloves for the party!
I love them. Very well done. I might shade a little more around the holes so the ribbon goes into them, it looks like really bubbly cords, they need more depth to look flat. You might try highlighting the black in some areas - edges and such. Great job, can't wait to see them on a client!
Re: Beautiful lace gloves for the party!
Think these would go well with the lace chokers that I've seen around. You could actually add lace garters or anklets.

Re: Beautiful lace gloves for the party!
Wow guys! So many great ideas and thanks for your honest comments!
I love the idea of transferring the concept to ankles and wrists.
And I don't mind if anyone want to try the design - everyone on this forum are so generous so of course: borrow, steal, copy... as long as you say where you got it from:)

No Critique but a suggestion to use temptu or other alcohol based temporary tattoo paints on someone is planning to wear this functionally at an event.
This will make it more sweat and food and clothing (And hosts home) friendly ALSO gives you the option of selling it to people who will be going out to: Halloween parties, Weddings (White or faux henna lace on arms our upper bust = pretty), masquerade and other events where they could get painted "tonight" for the event "Tomorrow"- With appropriate warnings about care.
Also, don't overlook faux jewelry as a similar sell..... One technique I;ve been playing with for FANCY faux neckalces... Use a lace doily, cut to shape, and spray or sponge design on in white or black. Then co bacl and trace over that with silver and a fine brush (So hightlight or shadow is already there) Then add on jewels
