Nipple covers
Hey guys! Long time no see!. I've been lurking around here but not posting since the baby was born.
I am doing my first full body painting and was wondering if there was a store that you know of that sells nipple covers. I dont want to pay a ton of shipping for a $6 item.
Thanks!

Re: Nipple covers
Check the bra section of a department store. Many of them carry sticky nipple covers for dresses you can't wear a bra with. Not sure how paintable they are, but they might work in a pinch.
You can cut out sections of latex bald cap.
3M papertape is okay-ish and you can paint over it, but you *will* have visible edges. =(
Do you have liquid latex at home? If so, you can paint circles of it on a non-stick surface, layering until they're thick enough (leave edges much thinner for blending), then powder them (talc is fine) and peel it up. Powder the underside as you peel them to keep them from sticking to themselves.

Sheesh, and once WalMart finds out what we use them for, they'll have their Mothers for a Moral Society march right in and ban them.
Nipple covers for body art
In Pashur's body painting class we just used the flat large self-adhesive kind (I think they are used to lift breasts when braless?) and cut our circles and then sliced up the radius and wrapped it around the nipple. This way you can adjust for the breast size and not get the raisin look like paper nipple covers (they look more nipple than real nipple) I got my at Walmart too. I think we figured you could get 6 to 8 out of a package.
You can also cut them to other shapes like hearts or flowers or swirl to better match your designs. Here's my model and you can only see the top of the cone in the photo.

Re: Nipple covers
I get them at the local drug store. Remember if they have the fabric coating, give them a little spray with hair spray so the paint dosn't soak in and change the look next to the paint on skin.
Re: Nipple covers
I was with Mark Reid one day last summer and he just used medical tape in an x over the nipple, couldn't believe how simple he made it!
Re: Nipple covers
Joann Fabrics and Michaels carry them! I got some on sale a few weeks ago for $1.99 a pair, I don't know if they would still be on sale but you could always use a 40% coupon
Re: Nipple covers
I got some beautiful ones at Victoria Secrets they were a bit pricey, but nice silicone ones like the "No Shows" that looked very good when done. Had painted the same client before with ones she obtained that were cheap & unsatisfactory as she has large nipples.
