Nipple Covers aka Pasties? Beware Pics:
I just did my first two body paintings this past weekend (soccer jerseys: Spain & Netherlands) to get me started on more body painting (going to do all different kinds of soccer jerseys from many countries). So I bought disposable pasties from Target and they were ok...But is there something better made just for body painting so that it absorbs the paint better? Also thinking I need that spray to make the paint last longer...Any recommendations?
I will post the pics when I get home b/c I'm at the office right now, lol!

I have used mehron's spray fixative, but I wasn't that impressed, I'd love to hear other's suggestions on this too.

This is a "censored" version. I still needed to do the shorts, but she needed a ciggy break, lol

Silly Farm sells pasties I am guessing that they are made especially for body painting. I use silicone nipple covers as it is the closest to skin that you can get and doesnt absorb paint like the fabric ones do. I also use the microfiber seamless nude thongs for the bottom

I think its weird to have to reuse the covers on other models even if you do disinfect them, and I think my models would feel the same...Silly farm only has the forever ones and the disposable have designs so thats no good...I guess target will due for now?

Hey, how about these? http://senselingerie.com/Mini-Nipple-Covers-P243.aspx I've never used them, but they look promising.
Re: Nipple Covers aka Pasties? Beware Pics:
I've been happy with the disposables from walmart. They don't need any extra adhesive as they stay in place well by themselves. As for undies, deffinantly the seamless ones work best. At fabaic, during competition, I watched one of the painters use adhesive to keep the undies in place and cut the side straps off so that it was basically a homemade pro shield. I thought it was a pretty neat idea.

I have a lot of the ProSheilds... if I do get them back from the models I paint I clean them up and will re-use. They cost me around $25 a set so the more uses the better!!
I have some other fabric ones that are self-adhesive but haven't used them.
I find that oil based make-up covers the Pro-Sheilds better for photography... there isn't as much refraction from the lights. The water based make-up tends go dry flat and the sheild looks different from the skin (but this is what PhotoShop is for right ).

This obviously is Spain's jersey. I had to add the star after they won (indicates they won a World Cup, so like Brasil would have i believe 5 stars...)
Re: Nipple Covers aka Pasties? Beware Pics:
If it's for photography, I prefer no pasties, and photo-shop for public consumption. (I personally think it's silly that the little nubby nipple is what defines nudity on the top half).
For a recent public event, I used nipple covers I found at the dollar store. Cheap, kept us legal, but not great.
I was at a clothing store and found silicone bras, backless and strapless, $8. The clerk says they get them in the summer and at prom time. Hopefully they'll work better.

i would rather have them not wear, but since they dont model I know they'd feel uncomfy, I mean the already felt uncomfy but once the jersey was done they were more comfy, lol. They are my friends so I'm grateful to them for letting me unleash my madness on them
Re: Nipple Covers aka Pasties? Beware Pics:
I always tell people you don't feel naked when you're painted, and they never believe me... until they get painted. It's very theraputic... they "zen" out during the painting, and end up feeling fantastic about their bodies.
Re: Nipple Covers aka Pasties? Beware Pics:
Well done on both! I particularly love the Spain jersey, did you get a close up pic of the emblem? It looks like you did great detail work on it.
Also, the picture is a little dark, but it looks like you got the red right on, what brand did you use?

Thanks, those pics are from my phone...my cousin is "editing" the real pictures. I used DFX red. I used the 90 gm for the base and the pallet/kit (10gm) for the top coat. the 10gm was darker.

Ok it depends what you want the covers to look like, what brand they are, what your audience is etc.
the disposables are FINE and i use them a lot; theres a french brand i got in China I like best, sort of grainy, not dimpled plasters like the usual ones. Have left Hong Kong now and can't get any more!!!
has round disposables on - invisible! in this case
So has
Also many diff shapes - hearts, flowers, round etc. Only ever had them not stick once on an 'alternative' model with HUGE breasts.
Also try the sort of 'cups' you get inside bikini etc tops - I could buy packs of them loose in HK markets. You glue them on with Pro-Ahesive or similar (thats what I use for body glitter tatts), a strip about 1 cm wide round the edge.
If there is a budget for it and it suits I LOVE BodyFX NZ'z scupted latex breast c0vers. They add to the designs and even active dancers felt safe in them for shows. As before glue on with Pro-Ahesive or similar (thats what I use for body glitter tatts), a strip about 1 cm wide round the edge.
roses
this caused a scandal as the flowing design of the breast covers was hidden by the feathery paint and as she had no visib;e straps on some thought she was naked...
I and several models hated the proshields - I don't like the look. To me it makes the nipple area MORE obv..and several said they were very uncomfy.
Don't forgt you CAN paint over some fabrics; depnds on design and fabric but its successful to varying degrees
painted bra
tube top
I have also glued on fake leaves, real pockets....as long as you don't glue the actual nipple area and are using a proper cosmetic adhesive, its fine. And if glued correctly, far safer in a crwod. club than a bikini top etc which can be untied or gape!
etc...

Re: Nipple Covers aka Pasties? Beware Pics:
You could make covers, like Cat said. I've found something, but haven't tried it.
Hat makers use fascinator bases to make ladies' hats that may only occupy a small amount of the head (to grab on to) but be big-brimmed, or have a blusher, or feathers, or whatever. I found somewhere on Etsy, a lady who sells woven bases, as well as bases already covered in really pretty feathers. They are just the right size. (A model told me about it)
So, I kept looking and found a how-to fascinators. I found this: http://www.anntorockio.com/2010/04/yogurt-container-to-fascinator-base/ Now, I probably would have to modify things a bit, but its something to make a start from.
