I've seen somewhere online regarding re-using the Altoids tins that you could seal them with something. People were using them for a tiny travel watercolour kit. I can't remember what they sealed them with, or whether that would be something we'd want to do when it's going to come in contact with our paints and eventually skin... But it's food for thought.
Someone else (Marta?) mentioned the concern about tin being an excellent heat conductor and possibly melting your paints in the summer. That would be B. A. D.
