Pinterest?

I am not sure how long Pinterest has been around, but I discovered it myself just last week and I love it. Wondering if anyone else is using it too? Both for professional and personal reasons.

Last night I searched the boards for 'face painting'. Not surprisingly, there were more boards than I could count. I recognised some of the pins too from contributors to this board, and elsewhere.

If you haven't checked already, I suggest you do. But take my warning: it's another addictive thing, so beware.

Curious why you need an invite...and what is with the waiting list??? (Found it last night as well LOL)

I think the invite thing is just the way they like to hype it. You know, makes it seem more exclusive. I 'applied' to join and got an invite by email the next day.

Friend of mine told me you just get quicker access with an invite.

If anyone wants to mess with it immediately and doesn't want to wait for access, PM me with your email address and I'll send you an invite. I use it for a lot of things: recipes, crafty stuff, inspiration, etc.

What is it??

Imagine that you have a bulletin board and you use it to pin things that interest you, maybe you are planning a party and you've ripped some recipes from a food magazine, and some decor from another magazine, and a few DIY invitation instructions from a website you printed, and you have them pinned to keep them together and maybe you're also constantly looking for inspiration for your face painting, so you may have taken a picture of some random tattoo so you stick that on your board, and just the other day you saw a website that you bookmarked there were some really neat safari pictures of zebras and you wanted to look at it again the next time you practice your zebra so you printed a pic and pinned it on your board...AND ON AND ON...
Basically it's a really neat interactive web based Pin board and people can follow your boards and you can follow other people's boards. You can also waste HOURS upon HOURS just looking at random cool stuff to pin. It's a strangely addictive time waster, But I've found it quite useful.

Nope. Thanks. Just wondered as I had seen it mentioned. I have an actual bulletin board in my office to stick things to, binders to put images in, and daytimer to make notes in... I'm a little old school.

Yeah, they're going through growing pains. Too many people too fast for their servers to handle. But it's getting better. Evenings are pretty glitchy because EVERYONE is on at the same time.
