Nervous....updated with final picture

So..in the morning I am painting my friend's belly as a gift. But as I research designs, I am suddenly very nervous. They have spent alot of time, money and heartache waiting for this child...including multiple miscarriages... I have found so many cute ideas...but many of them make me concerned that they will remind mom of the lost babies. Am I being paranoid? I saw a cute sleeping baby with angel wings as a blanket...a moon with a baby sleeping on it...plus a few others..but could they all be a bad reminder for her? They have left the design to me, a pretty simple, low key couple, no big hobbies or things they love except their dog, and this baby. So..at this point...I am going to try to paint a bulldog (seriously? OMG, how am I gonna pull that off??) And the baby's name...still trying to come up with that AHA!!

How about the babies name as a "window" for the bulldog face (attached). I wouldn't sweat the past problems...I would worry more about celebrating the future. They are obviously thrilled.

Why not just tell them about your thoughts? What if they don't mind? I've got a friend that said: thinking about the lost baby hurts, but not thinking about it, seems to hurt even more!
Maybe adding bright stars for every lost child tells mum you are caring about that too?
Pfff, just can't get the right english words to explain, hope you understand what I mean!

Thanks for the thoughts...I went another route all together and just painted a bulldog puppy and a ball with the babies name in balloons and the the words "Waiting for Sadie" because the puppy looks lost LOL Mom and dad love it, and they said the dog I made looks just like the one that they lost last year and they love it.

If the family is low key, it should be fine. What a blessing & gift after so much trial & loss. Just make it special for them!

That is so sweet any other day it would have made me cry, but getting over minor food poisoning so guess I'm too dehydrated to. Just love the bulldog and the idea.

I love how it came out. I went and looked for the pic after reading the touching story.. Your puppy is beautifully rendered and the balloons and name tie everything together really well.
