Re: Updated picture of my kit
Question barrage, ahoy.
Is that a painted FatMax? How well does the paint hold up to the banging in and out of cars and the like? What sort of paint do you use?
I'm so buying a FatMax if they're available in this country. My old sewing kit's teeny tiny wheels are destroyed from dragging it on gravel.

DURN! It looks amazing! I have the same Plano case. I had my dad pick it up in WI when he was on his way down last year.
I'm not jealous.
Not one little bit.

Re: Updated picture of my kit
It's a Plano case from Menards... I doubt you will find one in New Zealand!!
The case itself is plastic so I first had to prime it with white PLASTIC spray paint (spray paint for plastic) Then we went over it with any old spray paint... My fiance paints trucks for a living so he then clear coated it with auto spray to further protect it.
Thanks Diane!!

Re: Updated picture of my kit
It's certainly not looking hopeful. Crossing fingers for the fatmax being around SOMEWHERE here, but I haven't seen one since Christmas and Mitre 10 (local hardware giant) doesn't have them.
I hope I don't have to import one. I hate to think what the postage would be.

Suzy-
How do you do your gems? Are they self adhesive or did you put some sort of backing on them? You have them in page protectors is that right?
Can you tell me more about how you sort your gems? Right now mine are a pain in the tushie to me.
Thank you!

Hi Suzy,
I just noticed that my self sticking gems are falling off the paper they came on, what kind of glue did you end up using to adhere to the page protectors? They look so well organized...

I'm thinking of upgrading to a FatMax. I have a rolling scrapbook case from Michaels but am outgrowing it quickly.

This was on the GlueDots website:
How to Apply Facial Rhinestones
Cute, bewitching costumes start with skin-tested Glue Dots Adhesive Products. Attach small rhinestones to the skin with Mini Glue Dots and medium-sized gems using Craft Glue Dots.
Supplies
Mini Glue Dots
Craft Glue Dots
Jewels or Rhinestones
Instructions
Before applying rhinestones, make sure the skin is clean and dry.
Then, apply Glue Dots to the rhinestones and rhinestones to the skin.
To remove, use warm water and a mild soap.
Glue Dots adhesives may have a tendency to come off skin in hot, humid climates or in instances of significant perspiration.
Halloween Tip: Glue Dots adhesives are the quick, temporary fix for a torn costume hem.

I have the Plano Rolling Tool Box, too - I super ooper lurve it. I got a bunch of alphabet decals at the $1 store and went crazy - it says, "face paints" and is covered with peace signs and flowers and rhinestones... still... it's not NEARLY as cool as that glossy, easter-egg, marvel you have.
It looks totally fabuloso.
