Uh-oh... 2yo dances with black mica powder Empty Uh-oh... 2yo dances with black mica powder

Me and my boys were getting in the mood for NYE, dancing around the house with the music up LOUD. We are going into town to see fireworks tonight. Thought I might treat them to glitter tats. I was excited to try out my new mica powders. I got my kit out, put them on the table for a minute, got distracted and.... pot empty, floor covered, 2yo covered. Thank goodness I have timber and not carpet flooring. Think i got most of it but it took me a while. Sorry, no photos - i didn't think about that at the time!
My hands may be stained for a while, and so will my boy - but at least i managed to keep the baby out of it!

Ah well, just wanted someone to tell that might appreciate my problem! Now it's official, I've had my first major glitter/mica incident. I'm guessing it probably won't be the last!

Oh wow... sorry for your loss...poor mica, RIP Sad Very Happy

My two eldest (then aged 3.5 and 2) got into cake mix, icing sugar and green food colouring when I was upstairs changing the new baby... they spread it all over the furniture, walls, babyseat, themselves and wood floor... I didn't know whether to laugh or cry... thankfully I had a good friend who came and help me clean up

They're 20 and 18 now.

(It's much better as a far distant memory Very Happy)

kids ar pricless - extra points for keeping the other child out of it.
when my eldest was three she got an indelable marker and in my bedroom coloured in blinds her then yet to be born sisters bassinette, the floorboards, my bed and its posts, the door, our bedside draws and herself. after cooling down I asked her why... She told me I had told her not to draw on the walls..
Mothers day the same year her and her brother desided to get up and paint the kitchen for a surprise. 500mls of crayola red and green acylic, that came in a pack with rollers.

lol! hhaahaaa!!!! Kids, eh? If you didn't laugh you'd cry.

I want more kids and painting/decorating stories! Anyone? They made me laugh.

Update on the mica/black pigment. Even after mopping, the floor may LOOK clean, but our feet are black, the crawling baby has black hands, knees, legs, the bath has a black stain... *Sigh* yes, I will be more careful in the future.

I dumped a whole container of gold mica powder in my top desk drawer as I opened it to get a pen for a phone message... that was 2 weeks ago... apparently mica powder likes to stay around for awhile 'cause I still find it on my hands everyday!!! Suspect
