Using black snazaroo/mica powder to darken facial hair?

Greetings, all. I really hope I chose the right forum for this. I'm technically a beginner but since I'm pretty well researched and this is a really specific question I thought I'd come straight here. I'm getting into miming as a serious personal hobby and my first project will be creating a robot persona for myself primarily using Mehron's metallic glitter powder sort of like Steam Powered Giraffe (who I apparently can't link to as a new member - LOOK THEM UP!!) only in my own style and minus the steampunk. Anywho, I'm one of those people who looks a gajillion times better with facial hair and have actually designed my makeup template to incorporate it so that it looks more artificial rather than having to shave or try to hide it each time.

I'm thinking this would be accomplished by darkening my mustache, beard and sideburns, as well as the area around my eyes with black snazaroo or black mica powder and I'm just wondering if this will cause any complications or be difficult to get out? I've already achieved similar results with simple eye shadow and had no problems. Please and thank you!

Never used Snaz for the like, but it would probably work. Mica powder is something I am more familiar with & used it at haunts instead of black paint as it was easier for the actors to remove each night. It is not as intense a cover as paint, but it seems it would fit the bill.

If you want a super intense black I would go with Wolfe. The easiest trick I have found for clean-up is baby shampoo straight out of the bottle, make a mushy mess all over your face with it, THEN add water & rinse.

For theatre I use mascara in beards, moustaches, sideburns and eyebrows. If you want it to hold, use waterproof.

But Snaz black also works well, but if sweating it will run.

I wonder if black starblend would do the trick?!

I would go with a mascara...they sell hair mascara at Sally's beauty supply...use the face paint for your face, and the brush on hair color for your beard.

Mascara initially seems like the most logical answer simply because it involves hair, but my beard isn't always so thick that it covers ever last square millimeter of skin underneath and I may want to paint slightly wider than the actual beard line. Plus, I wanted to use the same product for my eyes/eyebrows if possible for the sake of cost efficiency (which i realize I may have to sacrifice) and that's pretty much the same principle since I'll basically be painting my entire eye socket black including the brows. So I'd probably just end up applying whatever other black I was using to my beard/stache/sideburns anyway. Or do you guys recommend using mascara regardless, perhaps because it will last longer or some other reason?

If I do end up just using powder, paint or cake makeup, then it's just a matter of whether to go with mica, snazz, wolfe or starblend. I'm intrigued by the latter because I'm already using Mehron brand for the metallic silver portions. The group I mentioned earlier use Mica powder for black so I may just end up following their lead. It's ultimately just a question of whether whatever I use will stick to hair or not. If so, then I'll use just that. If not, then I'll add mascara. Thoughts?

You can definitely use mascara on your eyebrows, and because it coats the hair, it is ideal for facial hair. You will need to combine with a powder or cake make up or face paint to also darken the skin. I think you will need at least 2 products, mascara and one of the others. I have not used cake, just fp, eyeliner and powder make up, so can't advise what is best. face paint will give you dense black coverage, which you might struggle to achieve if you are not experienced using the other products.
