Re: Best place to get StarBlend powders?
Question for Starblend users who do them in high humidity. What do you use for line work? Because if you use paint for lines, it will melt off even if you have power as a base?
I've also heard that if you use water on magic cakes, that you can't use them dry anymore.
So I thought, Starblend for base, black/white magic paints used wet for lines? Would that work for hot weather?

I don't have the full set and most of my experience is from playing in Psalm's kit. She was nice enough to give me a black one and that one is nice to get quick shading, but I think even if I had everything, it's the only one I would use.

I only have the black and white..the white seams to be ok..the black is not as black as I would like but ok..I have been wanting to get the other colors due to the humidty here also..I like the fact you can use them wet or dry
I have the BN Magicake in Cosmic Blue. When they say it holds up to perspiration--they are right. It took an extra scrub with soap to remove--good and bad to that! The Cosmic Blue is gorgeous mixed with the Wolfe Metallic White.
SF has a $5 flat rate shipping which helps with the 3/22 on the star blends. I was happy with the orange, red, green and white. The purple was very light. Going back for pink/yellow and brown.

Re: Best place to get StarBlend powders?
Are you guys using them wet or dry?? I use Starblend wet they are great....
Re: Best place to get StarBlend powders?
Never tried them wet... do they still hold up under heat and humidity?
Re: Best place to get StarBlend powders?
I spray the paint with water, sponge it, and it dries like powder so its awesome and light, I find I can get good even coverage with it in comparison to say for example white paint, as its not as blotchy - I have just reordered some now and I'll do a paint and post it if you like!
Re: Best place to get StarBlend powders?
I love to use mine on the small children the ones who would not like the feeling of paint... I LOVE it because they wiggle so much and the smoothie blenders are not as scary... then usually by the time I have to add the details with a brush they could care less there is a pointy object coming at them... I use it for kitties and puppies and tigers...oh my... haha sorry couldn't help myself. Red is such a pain to get off I would rather save the phone calls about it washing off.
Re: Best place to get StarBlend powders?
I keep asking them to carry Wolfe and Tag...maybe if you asked too?
Re: Best place to get StarBlend powders?
Do I really need to keep deleting posts in this topic? Metina sells this stuff and she pays for this forum. Please support her shop and the time and money that she puts into running this nice forum for us.
Thanks................

Re: Best place to get StarBlend powders?
Just an FYI for new folks reading this thread. It was started a couple of years BEFORE Metina started carrying the Starblends in the forum shop. I've never seen Metina post asking that people refrain from mentioning another site that carries a product she doesn't carry. If it is something that she carries in the shop, we try to be conscious of this and police ourselves. We have moderators in the forum who can delete posts that don't belong.
They have to be cautious, otherwise Metina would wind up paying for someone else's "advertising". I'm sure no one intended any harm and Suzy is just doing her job as moderator.

Re: Best place to get StarBlend powders?
Sorry Suzy, I thought the forum shop did not carry star blends!
Re: Best place to get StarBlend powders?
No worries... I guess I just see the back side of things and the countless people trying to advertise on here and it kind of gets to you and makes you angry about the (mostly blatant) posts.

Re: Best place to get StarBlend powders?
I picked up a green star blend, and just about every color of your glitter gel. My in town source never has green, and you made me look...250 bucks later... all for a good cause, right? summer stock.
Re: Best place to get StarBlend powders?
oh geez, I hope you didn't do that because I got a tad snippy....
I am glad you got new stuff though, I love new stuff!! Speaking of which... I need to order some stuff too... I have really used the heck out of that new Havana Sunset cake... totally worth it though because it is SO bright that it really draws attention.. I plan on using it all up on my Sunday outdoor street fair

Re: Best place to get StarBlend powders?
I needed to shop, I just have not had to do much shopping in a while, but I am nearly out of a bunch of stuff, like my tag pearl white is down to the bottom, and I can't run out of that! I have been meaning to pick up a green star blend for the hulk...your gels were on my list too. I almost ordered that same cake for fun, but I got the pearl one instead! Now, I can't wait for the package to get here.
