Stolen pics again

The top two are from Snaz (I love how the link is still there!) http://www.snazaroo.us/08/8christmas.htm
If Allyson Kenyon or Karen Baker are on this site, just fyi.
I didn't recognize the bottom two. Do they belong to anyone here?

"I am totally professional, punctual and reliable.....not to mention talented! ))"
Talented professionals don't steal.

Re: Stolen pics again

Re: Stolen pics again
lol. Good point rthling.
I wanted to get everyone's opinion on how to approach a situation I came across. I met a brand new painter that invested a LOT in her display stuff. Everything laminated... nice. A flip book of cheek art... ect. She put a LOT of effort into making sure her 6 foot table looked nice. Table cloth... napkins.... little pictures all over. Took her 20 minutes to set up. Only problem.. 80% of the pictures were not hers!!! And... she couldn't paint them nearly as well. She took 25 min to paint a 5 min design, and even then it wasn't very good. She didn't have any decent brushes. I wanted to help her SO badly. How do you tell someone that the display they worked so hard on is completely innapropriate? Someone else's pictures that they aren't even comfortable painting without staring back and forth from the child to the picture. Honestly, I think a lot of people are just really naive. They don't realize it's "false advertising".

Re: Stolen pics again
Should have taken the time she took making her display on practising instead.
As an aside, today at my gig I must have been asked by everyone over the age of 10 if I had painted all the photos... Yes, it only says so 43 times on my display!

Re: Stolen pics again
LOL!!! That is so funny. Why would anyone think to ask that? Maybe if they did more often, you wouldn't have people displaying OTHER people's photos!!
Re: Stolen pics again
Yeah... and about 30% of the photos are of ME! And that amazes them too... that I painted MYSELF... oy vey.

Re: Stolen pics again
I know what you mean Shannon. I don't paint myself anymore cause I got tired of people asking who painted my face. I told one woman that my mommy painted it before I left the house. She said "Wow, you're mom is talented too."
Re: Stolen pics again
wow really you all painted your own faces!!!! and your own displays too!!!
(tisk tisk)
I got asked today, I told them only the ones with black in it. Made the kids look at each one for a long time trying to figure it out
( yes - they all had black somewhere)

Re: Stolen pics again
I get asked all the time who painted my face. I really love it when they ask if I used a mirror NOPE, Did it blind...
Kat, (You look so adorable in your new avatar pic BTW!) It's sad they spent that much time, but ignorance does not get you out of a crime. It's an infringement & theft, either way. You can break it to them nicely. Do they have a website/FB Page? If they're using illegal photos on their advertisement, chances are they're using them on their site too.

I get asked all the time if I painted all my pictures, too! And most of them are on my own face.
Um, yup. Painted BY me, ON me.
And I almost always watermark my pics before I post them, so stealing them would be pointless. (not that anyone would steal my work...)

Re: Stolen pics again
Well craigslist took the site down so they got complaints. That's why we don't have a website yet not enough pictures.
Re: Stolen pics again
I recently was having my crew work for a painter friend at a large mall in my area. Her business is three hours from me but she and I both get hired by the mall and businesses there often. Since she was there painting statues and one of my crew is sorta still new so I stopped by to say hi. She said of there is a painter in Nordstroms but had no idea who it was. I had painted there just two weeks earlier so I went in to see who it was. Don't know the painter so I dropped my card and took hers. It is a family of clowns, mon, dad, two girls and yep - they have pics on Facebbook Snazaroo and other sources.
I have worked an event for over 10 years. I took one year off to go paint at the World Body Painting Festival so the next year a new painter was there, as we were also. She hd five posters with full color 6"x8" pics of images all, save two, from Marcela's books. She had two Mark Reid tigers. I went to meet her and I mentioned I was gone the last year because I was painting with Mark Reid. When she said she did not know who that was I said - oh well that's his tiger face on your board there ................
Listen people are gonna take advantage. Most events have you sign a vendor agreement that you can not violate copyright laws. Who knows about Craigslist. Web postings have rules and laws. As long as folks are diligent we'll keep those infringing to a minimum.

Re: Stolen pics again
I'm working on a website, too. So far, I have compiled some of my favorite pics. I have some of Daizy's, some from Anita, some from Kim, and a few other favorites. Still trying to figure out how to remove those pesky watermarks, tho.
Re: Stolen pics again
