Reason 486 Why not to paint kids under two..
Because they are NINJAS and while your back is turned they will steal your dippy pot, stick their fingers in it, try to lick it, paint themselves with it, and then run off leaving black smudges around the house. All before you notice they are gone.
Reason number 5 to paint YOUR OWN kiddo under two...
They are super cute and want EXACTLY what you have on. And will sit still for it.
(I may have to start a whole gallery of under two painting adventures. He's doing better, he no longer wants to eat the paint on his arm. But usually a one stroke spider is all he has patience for!)

My 20 months old is a "destroyer" too and he's obssesed with my paints and brushes! But, OMG, is soooo hard scolding him when he's showing me a green and black painted smile. (Btw Love the onesie. Well suited!)

Ha! Mine are ninjas too. Lol! I've been painting both my girls since they were 6 months old. My 2 year old now always tells me, "Face paint Mommy!". I sit her up in my chair to paint and her arm immediately reaches out to dig her fingernails as deep into the paint as possible and then proceed to smear it from head to toe. Here's some photos from the last two years of my girls that are now 1 and 2.

They're super cute! Didn't they rub the paint all over the face when they were babies?

Re: Reason 486 Why not to paint kids under two..
Not really. It was more of a problem with them rubbing paint off on me. When I would hold them and they would bury their faces into my clothing. It was worth it though. I love painting them even though their time out corner has paint smudges all over it from them standing there and crying and proceeding to swish their faces back and forth on the wall. It looks like someone came into my house and smeared mud right at the height of their little heads in the timeout corner.
Re: Reason 486 Why not to paint kids under two..
LOL I know what you mean with that "mud" on the walls. And love love love learning new words and expressions in English (I didn't know the "timeout corner", in Spain we have a "SILLITA DE PENSAR" ....hummmmmm may be "Thinking little chair" ???)

Cute cute cute!!! I love painting my babies. I have found that the best way is to give them a bottle and just lay them down on their backs. they just watch me in fascination as I come after them with the brush.
Re: Reason 486 Why not to paint kids under two..
These are all too cute.
My eyes were immediately drawn to the demolition expert onesie.

Oh ug that dippy pot he stole no longer has a lid. bah.
ahd to add to his destruction, He actually knocked the tray I had my paints in off my fat max yesterday. All the paints, all the brushes, all over the floor. Better think about securing that before tomorrows gig.

Your girls are so cute. I especially love the purple metallic butterfly. I'm amazed she stayed still long enough for you to paint all those beautiful teardrops.
