Havent had a problem with DFX paints. If you have facebook capabilities, you can message her directly Diamond FX Faceart https://www.facebook.com/diamondfxf
What colors did you use?
What are the batch numbers on the back of each one?
When & where did you get them?

Also, you should look to the brush, and the container that held your water. If there was a residue or something in one of them, that could have been what caused the issue too.
I would email DFX and your retailer, but also take everything you used, and do some testing in the crook of your own elebow, and see if you find the culpret.
If all the kids were in the same place, it is also possible that they reacted to something other than the paint. So many variables (and this is what DFX will probably tell you) so being able to have the specifics will help you narrow it down, and get rid of the paint if that is what you need to do, but also, increase your chance of getting a refund, which might be hard to do, unless you have a very receptive retailer.

Red eyes could be from wipes or using a color not suggest around the eyes. I think red and blue are two you shouldn't use around the eyes or lips. This is still not a big deal and probably not an allergic reaction.
The itching is very typical for brands like DFX or Wolfe. It's just the paints drying and causing pulling of the hairs on the face. Most people don't get bothered by it, but some freak out and can't stand the feeling. I haven't had anyone one ever come back with a reaction. Sometimes I will ask if they are allergic to lotions or cosmetics because this is another type of cosmetics
Honestly, I wouldn't trust DFX much. They have been pretty shady lately I trust Wolfe or TAG

Re: 2 allergic reactions to dfx in 1 nite!! help!
thanks cottoncandyclown...maybe i should try some wolfe n tag instead then...i have a wolfe neon cake n have had no problems with it...i got the impression though that they are all made from similar ingredients but that wolfe has perfumes...funny thing is i painted myself that nite too black n white n had no problems whatsoever! the brush was a royal majestic n i just sprayed clean water on to the cake first...they used johnsons baby shampoo to get it off as far as i know which they have used before
Re: 2 allergic reactions to dfx in 1 nite!! help!

Re: 2 allergic reactions to dfx in 1 nite!! help!
Jazz i just have thanks...the ingredients on the back of this palette DO NOT match the ingredients listed on the dfx website or the facepaintsirect website where i bought it - some colour codes r the same but the main key ingredients are all different!! - i am confused
Re: 2 allergic reactions to dfx in 1 nite!! help!
A while back, you can search on the forum, there had been a run of fake DFX paint. Please read it, as it seems as though you may have some of the fakes. I would also tell your distributor, because she is now responsible for distributing the fakes.

I can't be sure exactly, but I am allergic to NSAIDs and acacia senegal gum is an anti inflammatory that is listed near the beginning of the ingredients so it's probably in higher concentrations than we often find it in food items. That MIGHT be it, but I don't know. I had half of my face painted with it at a workshop I went to and after washing it off (the same way I always do) I had little sore red bumps all over that half of my face that didn't go away for about 3 days. I tried it one more time on my arm and had the same kind of reaction. I don't use that kind of paint anymore. I stick with Snazaroo since I don't like the smell of most of the other options (paradise or kryolan).
Re: 2 allergic reactions to dfx in 1 nite!! help!
ferric ferrocyanide was a familiar chemical, i looked it up, looks to me like it is used in blue paints....that may be why you cant find that specific element on the MSDS?

Pay attention to what is in what you buy. DFX/Wolfe/TAG are essentially the same paints from the same factories, so a product switch might not work. You may have to go w/ a company that does not make paint out of the factory in China....
I've never had anyone have a reaction to any of my paints, but do know that Wolfe had a reaction issue a few years ago.
Were you using a pot of paint or a combo palette? I'm wondering if it could be something to do w/ the smaller sample sizes & not the fuller 32 oz & up sizes.(FYI... this is all speculation on my part:-)

Re: 2 allergic reactions to dfx in 1 nite!! help!
my palette has no lot number and main ingredients are (except for the colour names n codes i think) ultramarines, ferric ferrocyanide, iron oxides, tatanium dioxie, mica, bismuth oxychloride....
whereas the website n msds states the main (excluding colour names n codes) as parrafin wax, protrulatum, glycerin, calcium carbonate, stearyl alcohol, sodium benzoate, senegal gum, dextrin aqua
im even more confused cuz the second list is much more similar to whats written on the bak of my neon wolf cake n the first list from the paltte is similar or the same to the other 2 dfx metallix ive got...i dont have any other paints...maybe they are fakes i just dont know why the palette doesnt list the 'correct' ingredients. guess il have to ring the distributor again n tell her they dont match at all with whats on her site n the msds

psalmbook it was a small sample palette of 12 essential colours
Re: 2 allergic reactions to dfx in 1 nite!! help!
I believe that the formulations for Wolfe, TAG and DFX differ slighly. I'm willing to bet my kit on it. Why? Because when I was painted (full face) with DFX last year the drying and itching were bad enough to have me washing off a pretty cool design within an hour. I painted a similar design on my face once I got my TAG in and none of the pulling and itching were present. TAG is more gentle on my skin that DFX and Wolfe is too. I try to use a glycerine rich makeup like Kryolan or Paradise for my bases and keep the TAG, Wolfe and DFX for linework only.
Re: 2 allergic reactions to dfx in 1 nite!! help!
Lady Jayde, I'm the same way. I rarely use Wolfe/DFX as a base. I'm starting to use TAG as a base since it's much gentler IMO.
Re: 2 allergic reactions to dfx in 1 nite!! help!
i think that is part of the problem - i would be much happier using something else as my base the only thing is kryolan n paradise contain parabens n i dnt want to use any with them in!! i guess i could try tag as a base n wolfe for line work...kinda scared of dfx now lol
Re: 2 allergic reactions to dfx in 1 nite!! help!
Thank you once again for all your brainstorming/research & counsel...I am the wiser!
Re: 2 allergic reactions to dfx in 1 nite!! help!
I usually use snazaroo or starblends as bases (have just bought a paradise starter to try out for blending experiments - not used on public yet) and DFX/Tag mostly for line work...although the tag metallics are great for butterflies or other 'shiny' things(like princesses etc.) and I've not had anyone have a bad reaction yet...thankfully...
Re: 2 allergic reactions to dfx in 1 nite!! help!
Were the people who reacted related? My brother and I both react to some of the same ingredients - he blisters, where I get red and itchy (and that's to glycerin which is so common in just about everything).

The fakes had nothing to do with having the wrong ingredients or anybody having a reaction.
They weren't even fake - they were just packaged wrong.
This would have a lot more to do with DFX not being a legitimate company, doing things the way a big supplier should.... the way the do business is dodgy so it wouldn't surprise me if the product was dodgy too.
