Comic Con/Halloween fun! (WARNING!!! Pic heavy)
‘Sleeves’ and chest for Halloween!
Full effect!
More skulls! This time as a shirt!
I didn’t get a good shot of the front if you can believe it!! But she couldn’t walk 4 feet without someone asking to take a photo, so I’m thinking I’ll be able to hunt one down.
Terminator face pushing through. I’m not good at mechanical yet and he had this as a picture and wanted it identical so I had two strikes against me…but overall I was happy-ish with the results.
Stylized batgirl who stood beside the batmobile! Enjoyed this one after kinda sweating it. I made up everything as I went with NO idea or sketch so I was hoping this would be well received and it was. Only had 40 mins so had to work it quick!
Cow skull should have been longer, but I started out too low. Overall happy with the result tho….
Some quick brains on my husband as he was being my booth babe!
Kate Vernon who plays Ellen Tigh on Battlestar Galactica came by to get her own memory of C4! She let me know I was her first henna and she loved it! What a fantastic and warm person. She had a handler send over an autograph afterwards and even came back for more! I wish her every part she tries out for as I can't think of many more deserving!
Private appointment for a party…. The one below shows the shoulders better but it’s a bummer the diamonds and stones never show up as nice with my camera as they look in real life…
Classic Jets jersey from the 80’s. Why is the bottom cut off you ask? Because Im lazy when it comes to re-touching photos (I really almost never do) and pasties + metallic blue = great big non shiny dark blue dots that seem to HIGHLIGHT the nipple area rather than disguise it…lesson learned!
Predator in henna
Been a bit of a while since I shared and it’s still crazy busy…should slow down considerably this month tho. Did a comic book convention and it was great fun! I had some great models and people willing to ‘give it a go’! Had lots of challenges (a Predator in Henna?!?! Without the spacemask? Ok….let’s go!) and lots of really fantastic feedback! Here is some of the stuff to share from my weekend! A lot of stuff ‘got away’ as you just can’t pick your camera up for all of them.
You will notice the guy shows up twice. He had the paint on both arms done on Saturday for one party, tried to take care of it and hairsprayed over it to try and make it last. He was mostly successful. Had his chest done on Sunday for a different party, and then (after all this *is* facepaint…overnight staying power is a lot to ask!!) came in to touch up the whole thing for a private appointment on Monday afternoon for a Monday Halloween party!
I cannot say enough about the support and sharing this site has provided for me to have come this far! Thank you all!
AND on another side note, filming for FABAtv for my henna is going to be the 15th and I just found out that on the 15th we will be going LIVE! For their live freebie day! Hope a couple of you out there join me!! Share some love and wish me luck! Excited and terrified…yup…that would be me!!!

Such great work!
I especially love the skull women's bodice - that spider web closure is so inventive too!

Thanks! Apparently that web/tie up has been a fav! I made up everything on the spot and I wonder if I had planned or sketched or had more reference material.....could it have been better? We'll never know!
Re: Comic Con/Halloween fun! (WARNING!!! Pic heavy)
I think it's so funny how you"warn" us that you are posting pictures. Thank you for that- because if it's on a day when I'm feeling insecure I know not to open it!! lol. Fantastic job, as always Kim.

Re: Comic Con/Halloween fun! (WARNING!!! Pic heavy)
Kim you are such an incredible artist & soul. I love seeing what you've been up to, it always inspires me. The fact that you make designs up as you go, is such a testiment of the true artist that you are.
Re: Comic Con/Halloween fun! (WARNING!!! Pic heavy)
First, AMAZING, OUTSTANDING,INSANE work,as always. Whenever you share your work I always think "This is the best painting I've ever seen, Kim can't overcome this" and then you post a new design and YOU DO IT AGAIN!!! Love your creativity and your talent. Thanks for sharing.
And good luck on your filming for FABA TV. I'm sure you'll rock!

Re: Comic Con/Halloween fun! (WARNING!!! Pic heavy)
Thanks guys! I may be hooking up with a photographer who does 3D photos so I'll let you know how that goes too!
Re: Comic Con/Halloween fun! (WARNING!!! Pic heavy)
Hey Kim would you mind if I tried a couple of your designs? I can change things up a little.
Re: Comic Con/Halloween fun! (WARNING!!! Pic heavy)
Oh heck no! I just make it up as I go and if anything I do inspires someone I'm beyond flattered! In fact I'd just like to know when you 've done it is all I ask so I can see what my 'baby' has grown up to be! LOL Whenever you come up with a concept, it is a first run which usually means the next 'step' that another artist takes with it 'grows' the design! Thanks for asking and I can't wait for the share!
Re: Comic Con/Halloween fun! (WARNING!!! Pic heavy)
Simply awesome work, Kim! Amazing inspirational designs! Feel free to share your photos on https://www.facebook.com/FaceAndBodyPaintersTipsAndTrix too ; D
Re: Comic Con/Halloween fun! (WARNING!!! Pic heavy)
Holy heck! Those are amazing. I don't which one i love the most. Your sense of design and colour are so strong-so far beyond the butterflies that I am currently aspiring to. Thanks for sharing and the inspiration to show how much potential this art form holds!

Re: Comic Con/Halloween fun! (WARNING!!! Pic heavy)
Thanks guys!!! I still have along way to go, but I feel like I'm really getting my feet under me on the face and body paint!!!!!
Re: Comic Con/Halloween fun! (WARNING!!! Pic heavy)
Insanely gorgeous artwork, as always. Too bad that first model was so ugly... he must have been hard to look at while painting.... whew...
Re: Comic Con/Halloween fun! (WARNING!!! Pic heavy)
Yeah....my job is so hard! Multiple body builders...one guy going as Blade (did his tribal in temptu), this guy, the models at the 'It's all about me' show. Hard job but someone's gotta take the bullet for the team!! LOL All kidding aside, it's amazing how once brush hits skin, you soooooo don't notice anymore and after all you 'see' is your work!
