Snazzaroo split cakes?? Empty Snazzaroo split cakes??

Has anyone experimented with a Snazaroo split cake? I am thining of making some, as I think Snazz makes a really good base and wondered if anyone had made their own with success.

Also, anyone got ideas for good split cake containers???

Most of my kit is snaz splits and rainbows, I love them, they last forever, but they do not make great one strokes...You would have to reload too often.

I've made a number of Snaz split cakes. The dark and light blue together make the best color for water, dolphins or sharks I've used. Go for it!

I have splits in my paints (they are all Snazaroo), but I have them more so that I can carry more colours than to use them as actual splits. I keep them all in original containers, just split both and end up with two matching splits. There are two though that I DO use as splits, my Pink and Purple sparkles and my light purple/dark purple. I use it on a sponge or my butterfly brush and either way it is almost exclusively for butterflies.

My favourite Snaz split is sparkle turquoise and sparkle lilac - it makes really pretty butterflies and is one of my most requested designs. I do the same as Perry, just cut the two cakes in half and switch halves, keeping them in their original containers.

I have lots of Snaz splits. I love double loading sponges for any design, though they aren't great for brush-work. Mine are 2-3 color splits, mostly just to conserve space in my palette. I have a red/orange/yellow cake for sunsets, light/dark purple, light/dark pink, etc.

I think snaz splits works good only in 2 colors, I have the turquoise (favorite) mix with wolfe metallic blue and white and works so pretty, but I have a split of 4 snazaroo sparke colors and I had to stop using it, no cute at all.

I bought 2 snazzaroo kits: one for 'girl' designs, butterflies/angels etc. on the package and one for 'boys' with spiderman, army guy etc. on the package and the colors for boys are much better for splits - they are creamier consistancy. The sparkle colors in the 'girl' kit don't work at all for sponging - too thin when you use water. I'm trying to figure out how to make them work :-( but i did make a teeny tiny split cake of black, red, pink and yellow that I use for dragons and a blue/white/turquoise that I use for mermaids and they are great for one-stroke and also sponging. If I had more money to spend on facepainting, maybe I could buy cakes that are larger than 1" in diameter!!!

While splits have their uses.... like, rainbows and peacock feathers (and one stroke roses and leaves... ) I still will blend on the face for bases... I prefer the finish I get that way.

Snazaroo sparkles are thinner in consistency, but they have their uses... I love them for backgrounds for pretty eye designs and princess crowns. You can't do much line work with them but they make a lovely base.

I made a snazaroo split with pink, turquoise, yellow and white - the colours blend so nicely together. I've been asked for so many butterflies with this base. x

Thank you everyone for your fab advice. Snazaroo splits are now made! I never even thought about just doing it to save space in my kit. I found it a bit soft so will put them in the fridge first enxt time.

Also made my own Diamond FX neon rainbow cakes and I am sooo pleased with them!
