I read through the above links regarding split cakes...is there a reason I didn't see Tag being used in homemade splits? I haven't tried making my own yet but plan to do so very soon. All of my paint is either Tag or Wolfe, I haven't tried any other brands yet. Am I missing something?

Maybe it's because Tag has so many splits & one strokes? Don't know, but they are obviously successful with them...

All my homemade splits are TAG. TAG offers a nice line of splits for those who don't want to mess with the make your own. I prefer the way TAG colors stand out from each other in a split.

I tried making split cakes with my left over paints, word to the wise, don't mix brands unless they are DFX and wolfe together. otherwise it doesn't work.

Sure it does! My mom made splits with all her old leftovers, so she has splits containing grimas, superstar, snazaroo, wolfe, paradise,... They work great, and kids love them

I mix Tag and DFX many times in a split cake and they work well. But never try to blend with Wolf. I tried today on a black and gold tiger. Black and Gold for the Saints of NOLA before anyone ask why would I want a black and gold tiger. I did one in purple and gold last week (for LSU) I did not use wolf. I used sillyfarm gold and Tag purple and it blended well. I like to make my own split cakes because it is much cheaper then buying them already split. The other bonus is that I get the colors that I want in my split cake.
