Re: Business Cards!
I still think you need design in bright blue/green to set-off the contrast...

Re: Business Cards!
I was playing around today and come up with a card that's almost as wordy as I am...almost. I am trying to come up with something to give to give to stores that have at least some info on it.
I know, let go of the need to justify your face painting existence...baby steps... I've been trying to get past the blank business card template for about 2 weeks. My husband and son came up with the name...I think I like it more for sentimental reasons...you know...they were brainstorming for ME!
I didn't ask them if it hurt or anything! It's sweet and my son was so proud of it, I guess I'll keep it.
My husband started a site for me this weekend...like I'd know what to do with it, so I have to get that up and running before I can print any cards...so I have time to de-vocabularize it and to bribe my kids into letting me paint some more recent faces.
Re: Business Cards!
Very wordy... and do you don't really want to use the web-guy in print do you??
Take out the middle "why..." part and it is a decent business card. This version could be a postcard or resume....

Re: Business Cards!
Web guy is just a place holder until I can nail my son down to a chair.
I figured I'd have to lose the Why part...I have issues with unused space.
Maybe that explains my cluttered garage...

Re: Business Cards!
wondering if a bigger border on the images might help separate them from the background?
Re: Business Cards!
I was going for the "snap shot" look.
I just caught the part about the resume/postcard thing. I think I like that idea...well...for store postings. I think I'll do both! Simple business cards and resume' type postcard thingys. Thanks guys!

Re: Business Cards!
as for the issue with "unused space" ... make the fonts bigger... you don't want them to need a magnifying glass to read your card. Just the basics on a business card. If you MUST put all the other stuff on there, put it on the back.
Re: Business Cards!
My new version of a business cards failed the test group here in Kansas but this version passed with flying 'colors' (I made a funny). Any opinions? I have not ordered them yet.

Re: Business Cards!
Jadye: Too much text. Let your pics do all the talking. Plus your card is about 3.5 times larger than normal and I can't read the type, so went it is shrunk and bleeds a bit, there will be no way to read it.
Cox: Very nice, but would try and replace the two photos in the middle with more color. Color is more eye catching.

Re: Business Cards!
Excellent thought! I love tormenting my kids to be my test models. I will repost soon.
Re: Business Cards!
what software do you use to create your business cards? I'm a Mac user and have a hard time finding affordable software.

Re: Business Cards!
I was a mac user when I first started graphic designing for the websites my husband was coding but, over the years, I have found it very hard to ignore the large amount of stuff for IBM compatible users. I went to the dark side about 10 years ago.
Let me know if you find something good for a mac. I am interested.

Re: Business Cards!
I learned MAC in college for graphics and like them, but I am a PC user (need it for the games) the first time I tried GIMP for the PC, it kept crashing, that was a few years ago and I have recently tried it again, and I have not used it a lot but it seems more stable. I too recommend it as it is free!
Re: Business Cards!
As usually this forum and its members are AWESOME. I will try this "GIMP" hopefully my computer doesn't explode
I'm running a lot of "free" software on here!

Re: Business Cards!
I used Pages for MAC. Not sure how expensive. I use my work computer after hours. We are an OMNICOM company so, it may be pretty pricey. On my PC at home I use Microsoft Works Templates..........
Re: Business Cards!
I mock mine up in MS PictureIt (which came on my computer)... save it as a JPEG, then email it to my printer with the orginal images for them to create on their software and have their designer tweak it for me.

Re: Business Cards!
This is mine -I need to clean it up some more but it's all original art. I can't get the size right to post it but if you click it it opens up and you can read it.

Yes
Info about products including the name brand
Hygiene

I am a designer but too close to my product - so I had a friend whip me something up and I traded a party.
The design translated nicely into the logo I used for embroidery.
Speaking of which ...I used Queesnsboro.com
no set up fee and 4 piece min very resonably priced great tools for changing the color of your logo if it's going on a dark vs. light shirt.
