Con-crit on new business cards?
Hey everyone!
I came to the shocking realization the other day when I went to hand out my business card (for makeup) that I was handing out my VERY LAST ONE! Time to order new cards, apparently!
Good timing I guess since I'll be able to piggyback new cards for the face painting side of my business onto the order. That being said, here's the design I have so far. Any constructive criticism?
I did my best to keep things simple, legible, but also bright and eye-catching. And I can have them printed in different colored paint splattered so that they aren't all the same.

I really like the design & colors!!! (Those butterflys in the corners are lovely!)
Removal: if they start with rubbing in liquid soap/baby shampoo on the face paint, then rinse--like proaiire recommend for their product, it seems to work wonderfully too.

Re: Con-crit on new business cards?
Nice! I enjoy the background on your cards - I just ordered new cards myself on Friday (had to do a same-day rush order so I'm not happy as they're just one sided but wanted them for an event this weekend) - oh wellz!
Re: Con-crit on new business cards?
I like them! I'd reword the removal instructions a little. Instead of applying the moisturizer for 15 minutes..., apply the moisturizer, wait 15 minutes...

Re: Con-crit on new business cards?
@LittleMonsters: Thanks so much! I considered one sided cards and just using a rubber stamp to mark the backs with removal instructions. I could even customize them for the event (face painting only or tattoos only) this way!
In the end it seemed more work than it's worth. :/
@anniel & Kris5115: Thank you so much for the advice! I've taken it into consideration and changed my wording a bit.
Here's the updated card-
In retrospect, I'm SUPER glad I waited to get your guys' opinions, because in the middle of editing everything I realized that the FairytailFABA keyword didn't even direct to my Facebook page! I tried to fix it, but Facebook wouldn't let me change the url. I ended up having to make a whole new page for my business and make a post asking people to 'transfer over' and letting them know that all updates would be on the new page. The original one was still in its infancy, so no big loss- just a little frustrating.

I like it too.
I am too in a dilemma about my cards. The white cards are my current card. The black is my latest idea. Any preference, comments?

Re: Con-crit on new business cards?
They look nice but the font is really tiny. Some people have a hard time reading tiny font, especially at events where they may not be wearing their reading glasses.

Re: Con-crit on new business cards?
Kris - Thanks for the reply....These are cards are meant for people can take away with them as an after sales type thing. The banners and fliers I have at events are big and bold so easily read.
Forest-Fairy - I went for the black as I wanted it to tie in with the banner I just ordered (inspired by your blog)

Re: Con-crit on new business cards?
That looks better Pippa! There was a lot of wasted space on the back of your black cards and a lot of wording - increasing the size looks much better (and more legible)
Re: Con-crit on new business cards?
Yes definitely better with larger text.
Yet to order them as trying to decide between the white & black.

Re: Con-crit on new business cards?
i like both, so i looked at them and thought, which one would make me hire you for face painting? decided the black one would, because it's is more dramatic and professional looking. the white one has more of a pretty vibe.

Re: Con-crit on new business cards?
Thanks for that jlire, think black is the winner as per the following items (Business Card / Flyer / Poster)
Re: Con-crit on new business cards?
Wow, love how it ties colors together across all of your advertising!
Re: Con-crit on new business cards?
I agree on the black- it really makes your colors stand out and puts the focus on what you do- face painting!
You inspired me- I saw your flyers and posters and thought 'wow, that's so cool! I want some!' I finalized my moodboard (something I learned from Salted Ink) and decided that rack cards would work better in my area than posters. Sending them off to print right now- sure hope there aren't any errors!
Its kind of addictive... I want to make some Halloween flyers now...

Re: Con-crit on new business cards?
I use a program called Artisan by Forever (formerly Panstoria) to design the cards and Got Print to print them.
