Parental permission forms Empty Parental permission forms

Hey all,

I have read all the threads about having to get parental consent to take a picture of a child and i have seen examples of these.

What i am wondering though is how do you bring this up with the parent?

And if i was to go to a party would i have to get every parent a sign to form?

At jobs and parties, even though the parents are there i still feel too nevous to ask them because quite frankly, i dont know how to ask.

thanks guys

Every parent loves to talk about how cute their kid is. I always start with that. "wow! Look how adorable she is! I really like how that design looks on her. Would you mind if I take a picture to use on my board? Of course, I gotta make it legal though here's the form and a pen. Thank you so much!". You get the idea.

When I book a party, I ask the parent to talk to the other kids' parents about it. I usually say something like, "I like to use pictures of events on my blog, but I want to make sure everyone is okay with that. Can you ask the other moms if they are willing to sign a form saying I can use their child's picture?" I always assure them that I never identify the names of locations of any of the kids. Usually they all agree.

Some people use a form that is sort of like a petition - the waiver/permission text at the top and then multiple lines for childrens' names, parents' names and signatures and addresses - for birthday parties.

The form I use is on my resources page (link in my signature). I don't take photos at parties... can't be bothered.

I have my husband (my line manager, Mr.Meanie) ask when he is collecting the money. He explains why we ask what the photo might be used for and offers to send them an email when the photo is uploaded and offers to send them a copy of the photo. Most parents are fine with it. I use Shannon's form.

I only require name, date, signature, and if they want a copy of the photo sent to their email...then their email address. But that is it.

Her name was Little Dog. L.D. for short. She was my baby for almost 18 years.
