So, at the NY state fair today, met a VERY talented and friendly face painter, Heather...but I can't remember her username here, so if you read this Heather,I hope its Heather lol... and she may not as she said she is very busy lately, it was a pleasure to meet you and hang out, and thanks for all the advice!

Shannon...There are a couple more friendly face painters on here from the Syr. area...myself and TheFacePaintLady(who is already my good friend). My sister wanted me to send her to the Fair yesterday in full face paint and she would hand out my cards, but our grandmother ended up very ill and she didn't get to go to the Fair.

I painted myself up and went...but I suck at marketing myself...everyone just assumes you got it done there, so they aren't exactly suprised..except for the fact that I was the ONLY adult at the fair painted up...but I don't have the "balls" to just hand out my cards to random people..I thought, stupidly, that they would inquire about the painting and it would be a conversation starter...and then I would get to promote myself..i did to one lady, but her daughter had already had a party, and she didn't ask for a card...should have handed it to her anywas huh? I need a class in self promotion. How do you guys do it when you go out painted up???? Do I just need to be braver? lol

Melody and I (TheFacePaintLady) would love to meet with you. We work individually but team up for larger events. Both of us are down to earth, nice chicks! She is the same age as you and I'm the mother hen who acts like an idiot still in high school!

I was set up in Jordan on Saturday for the Autism Ride and Music Festival... Let me tell you, that was a challenge. If the humidity wasn't bad enough, I had quite a lesson in painting the faces of autistic children with sensory issues!

Shannon I have seen your ads on CL! How far is Elbridge?

When I go out painted, well... I bring my daughter and SHE is painted, I have bad acne so I only do eye designs on myself... we wait until someone smiles at her, and hand them a card. Easy peasy!
