My first Body Painting Empty My first Body Painting

Post by pinkundies Mon Aug 29, 2011 3:57 pm

My sister-in-law has wanted to get a back dragonfly tattoo for the longest.

I painted a dragonfly tattoo with two differing styles, because she was unsure of what style to go with, and I told her she better make sure she knows what she wants before she gets inked Razz

So, it may look funny, but since I have only been painting for a few months it is my first and i wanted to incorporate two different design styles without having to do it twice. I want to try to get into body painting now. She wants the tail to wrap around her back like that to cover a scar. It is my first, be gentle Smile

BTW, I am learning from so much of you here with all of your advice, tips, tricks and talent. Thank you so much!

Lynne

Love the detailed body. I think the right side 'pops' more and gets more attention. Like the colours on that side.

I love both sides, but the purple side pops out better!

I like the realistic style of the center portion, and the colors on the right side. The shading that you have done really helps give dimension to the painting. Shading can be tough to do well, so good job on that. The composition of the piece works well for her shape. Good stuff.

Lynne,

It is absolutly gorgous. I actually took a photo of a HUGE dragonfly at the door to my work today. How ironic. I really love the colour, but the detail and realistic left side is better suited with the realistic body and head. Maybe she can have the left side with some colour inked into it?
Great job. And for only painting for a few months....wowzers girl. You rock. I cannot wait to watch you grow.
