I can't make up my mind!!! (another name post)

I REALLY want to get a few business cards ordered and create a facebook page (I didn't think I was in this to start a business, but people are asking for cards when they see my kids painted and I thought a facebook page would be easiest so people can see pics...if people want to hire me, why not right??? yeah, I'm still kinda freaking out about it
My problem is I don't want to do either of these things without a NAME...a cool name, something that isn't overly girlie either.
My name is Kathleen but I go by Kat most of the time and there seem to be alot of 'Kat's' out there that paint so I didn't want a 'painted by kat' kinda name.
Some of my thoughts were along the lines of Wildcat (or wildKat) designs, little monsters-face painting &more, monster Kat designs...I didn't want anything strictly 'face painting' in the title incase I want to use my page for other artistic endevours as well I just need to agree with myself on something and get on with it already!!!

oh and I'm also really paranoid about picking a name that is already 'spoken for'...the last thing I want to do is step on any toes and so I google every name I kinda like first...but I'm still worried about missing something!

I just put "Art" after my name, as in "Debra Newman Art". You could do the same. It will cover any type of art you ever care to create so you don't have to keep changing business names to fit what you are doing.

I thought about that, but my full name just doesn't 'flow' as nicely as yours does...plus I might change it in the future lol!(my hubby and I have been together over 10yrs, but we aren't REALLY married...I plan to one day have the same name as him and our kids! and his name would sound even worse!)
Little Monster Designs has been my first pick...although I haven't found other facepainters under that name I did a search on facebook and found a page with the same name...if what I do is different from them is it bad to steal the name?

Googling Little Monster Designs, the .com is already taken. If you are ever going to expand you need to take that into consideration too...

I like the use of the word Designs, You can always unoffocially add in a smaller subtitle of "Face Painting" or "Body Art" if you are wanting to make it more obvious.

Definitely take into consideration whether the web domain is available. If it is, buy it right then, because some people watch those "searches" and buy up anything anyone searches for so they can sell it back at a profit.

I like "Wildcat Designs", though I think I would at least incorporate your name into it, such as Wild Kat Designs. Don't obsess over whether some other face painter might have a similar name. It's hard to do that when you are here among so many painters, but in your area, promoting yourself to the public, no one is going to know that there are already a significant number of "Kats" out there painting. Just make sure your name is unique to your area, and isn't EXACTLY like someone else's. You need to appeal to clients and customers in your city, not necessarily to colleagues.

When I named my business, I thought it was completely unique. A few years later I realized that Pashur's name was "Canvas Alive". I was worried that he or others would think I had copied it, but the truth is there just aren't THAT many original ideas out there anymore for this specific field. Eventually we've got to start repeating ourselves, at least with some descriptive words. No matter, you can brand your name so that it is unique to you with logos, color schemes and catchy subtitles.

Little Monsters is a cute name too! I can tell you that MOST parties I do are for little girls, and many many are princess parties... so you might want a name that appeals to girlie girls as well as boys.

Thank you all so much for your imput...right after my last post I decided to just go ahead with 'little monsters' but dropped the designs (I added 'face painting fun & more to the facebook page title but I might change that part!)

I liked that one, and I call my kids little monsters all the time so it suits! lol Plus, my son (who is 8 and not big into the face painting) really liked it...so I figure it might intice other little boys to step up. There never seems to be an issue getting girls to be excited about facepainting
