DFX Official Statement
Official announcement from Diamond FX Head office, Netherlands.
Summery Version.
Alex Beek C.E.O. Diamond FX Face Arts
Pretty Face BV
Alkmaar
To all concerned users of DFX USA
We wish to bring attention to the issue that has circulated within the last two weeks.
Below is an official statement of all facts concerning the use of ‘fake DFX’ throughout the USA.
We are now at the point that statements can be made official, by social media sites and other websites.
On Saturday August 6th 2011, Diamond FX Netherlands received an important email drawing our attention to the sales of face paints with poorly printed labels, and clearly not the same quality DFX is known to supply.
Diamond FX is very proud of the quality and high standard paints supplied. All our paints are put to stringent tests, and are considered extremely safe for use.
If paints are not to the same quality, yet hold a DFX label, users are effectively buying what they know to be a trusted and respected brand, yet receiving goods that may not be reliable.
Diamond FX has tried to ensure all users were made aware of this issue immediately, and asked they cease use of their suspicious products, through the fastest method we thought possible, FaceBook!
Diamond FX cannot verify the quality of any ‘fake’ paints, regardless if the paints eventually turn out to be usable.
Diamond FX holds their customers in the highest regard, and would never risk customers’ safety with paints and supplies not absolutely perfect.
We are now able to release the information that all faked products were originally supplied by the USA distributor.
No other countries have been affected.
The distributor has been terminated of her distributorship, and asked to cease all ties with Diamond FX.
As a company, we have been betrayed by one of our own.
Clearly our distributor did not represent the high respect and concern Diamond FX has for its customers.
Diamond FX will continue to supply the amazing paints we are known for, but not at the cost of our customers safety.
Below is a list of all safe vendors you can feel confident purchasing your Diamond FX products from.
Please contact us if you need to know anything that is not clear.
Diamond FX will support and answer any questions.
If you would prefer a longer more detailer version of this issue, please email us.

Re: DFX Official Statement
Good to see Metina mentioned as a safe vendor.

Re: DFX Official Statement
Sounds like another load of BS if you ask me. I had an idea that this is exactly what the release would say today, without really saying anything new at all. Is this what we have all been waiting for?? Was this suppose to answer any of our questions.
Sounds like it says this. To all of you who bought paints from "our" us distributor, you have been screwed. Sorry about that, but buy our paints from another one of "our" us distributors

Re: DFX Official Statement
They are saying Elana did it, but Elana says she has emails and receipts proving the paint is legit, and that DFX told her to print labels because they were out.
Re: DFX Official Statement
Elana needs to get a lawyer. They aren't officially naming her, which tells me they know better than to do so legally.
Re: DFX Official Statement
All I can say is Ï'm glad I'm a TAG and Paradise girl, the little DFX I have, I trust, I bought it from Metina.
However if I had been a DFX girl I would switch out my kit purely out of principle at the moment. DFX has handled this very poorly IMHO.

Re: DFX Official Statement
Argh. This is NOT the release I was hoping to see after two weeks of roundabout answers.
This is just more of the 'let's-pray-the-customers-aren't-paying-attention-to-the-man-behind-the-curtain' jargon.
Clayton -
Do you have the link for where DFX posts that the paint is from the same plant?

Re: DFX Official Statement
I have the email they sent me... accusing "the distributor" of purchasing the paint from the same plant they use under the name of DFX's former owner.
Re: DFX Official Statement
OH, sorry, that was the new email I'm referring to, not the one posted here.
Re: DFX Official Statement
so is lot 101 safe or not..thats the answers Im looking for not alot of jibberous.
Re: DFX Official Statement
If anyone wants to read their full explanation on the events you can email
klantenservice@diamondfx-faceart.eu
Just request the full version of their statment and they'll send it to you right away no questions asked.
At this point no-one is sure if they're allowed to post the full statement in this forum for everyone to read so for now everyone has to request it themselves.

Re: DFX Official Statement
I guess it's up to individuals to read DFX's version, consider Elena's version and the documents she has made public and decide for yourself if it's safe to use.
Both DFX and Elena are saying it's from the same factory, the dispute is over who ordered it, who labelled it and who got the profits.
However, if DFX have made an official statement that lot 101 is fake and they take no responsibility for it, despite evidence that it is manufactured exactly the same as the original, if you use it and something goes wrong I'm pretty sure your insurance would drop you like a hot potato. That said, what could go wrong? Right?

Well, that's all they're giving us. I'm not sure why they are sending out emails to anyone an their mother who want one but would not want us posting them... but basically...
If you believe Elena than definitely yes.
If you believe Eugenia, then most likely yes. - The paint came from the same manufacturers.
Elens has posted several receipts for her orders from DFX totaling some $90K.
DFX admits they sent her paints without labels, and sent her a label to make copies of and put on the paints; that is in the letter they will send you if you request it.
Re: DFX Official Statement
Because they thought/think they are getting cut out of the equation. As I understand it, Elena said that quite often DFX would get her orders wrong. With how disorganized this whole ordeal has been I would not be surprised if their records are all screwed up.
Who knows? Maybe they don't even know.

Re: DFX Official Statement
Barb, you could always call your insurance company, show them the statements so far and ask if they will cover you if you use the lot 101 products.
The fuss came when DFX got their knickers in a twist about Elena supposedly labelling products she bought herself from the manufacturer with the DFX label. They thought they were missing out on profits so they released a statement saying we should all stop using the products in question - Lot 101. Whether or not it was "stolen" product and "stolen" profit they handled it in a most unprofessional way and the whole thing's a mess. As I think Metina pointed out in another thread, if DFX admit the product is safe we will all keep using it and they continue to miss out on the profit. If they claim it is unsafe they will have to prove it in the face of Elena's proof of purchase. Dont hold you breath for DFX to tell you it's safe... they're not going to do it.
Elena, who is supposedly the source of these alledged fakes says they're safe and that they are indeed DFX product.
They are most likely perfectly "safe" on skin as it seems people have been using this lot number since at least 2010 and no-one has had any dramas, but if you are concerned about "safe" as in does my insurance cover this? I'd call them and just ask.

Re: DFX Official Statement
I'm glad you put "supposedly" because the more info I read the more I smell something fishy on DFX's end.
You admit to sending the paints without labels... admit to sending her a label to print and put on herself, even give her a $600 Euro discount for doing it herself... Then someone send you an email because she's using the "fake" labels you told her to use?
Something is not right with that story.

I agree Clayton..I think this sounds really fishy
Re: DFX Official Statement
DFX is and always has been fishy.
Imagine spending 90k and having them do this to you?
If I was Elena I would of got myself a lawyer a long time ago.
DFX are not able to explain themselves, because they have no idea what they were doing.
Elena did what she was asked to do. I'm starting to think the DFX people are on medication or something - I mean they must think we are stupid.... it's so obvious they messed up.
The only way this is not DFX's fault is if they can prove Elena ordered all this paint form the factory and cut them out of the profits.....
Elena has proven the paint came from them.
The factory should be able to supply all order forms but if DFX has lost or misplaced invoices then they would have no idea how many they had bought.
REGARDLESS - the paint is safe and what DFX did was wrong.
Also - sorry but the chance of something going wrong and your insurance finding out about this has got to be a million trillion to one.
I wouldn't worry about it. You can say it wasn't LOT 101.... and what would your insurance know..... I seriously wouldn't worry about it one bit.
