US made paints Empty US made paints

Just curious, my mom sent me an e-mail saying that if we all banned Chinese made products, it would secure/create 200,000 US jobs a year & be a major boost to our economy. That being said---is there any US made paints? Is Paradise? (Considering the fact that there's no Chinese made whites around...it may be time for me to adapt! confused )

Some Kryolan is made in USA, and Some of it is packaged in USA but made in Europe. Depends where you order it from.

Ok, I went to the horse's mouth. Kryolan USA is making about 45% of the Kryolan sold in the US, in the US. I'm just waiting to get a bit more specific info on which products that means as Kryolan makes EVERYTHING you can think of.

About half my aquacolor says made in USA, half says Made in Europe. I believe it is my kryolan liquid that says "Packaged in USA" but not sure. ALL came from same place.

Graftobian is an American Company, and the products of theirs that I have say made in USA.

Of course, most of the times when the "buy american" thing comes up, we have to remember that many of the products we buy (Shoes, etc) made overseas would cost 10 times as much made in the USA.

The sad thing is that most everything we own is made in China. USA stuff is more expensive. We were looking at getting a pool table and the one made in China was $1,500 cheaper affraid Of course, the store didn't not suggest purchasing that one because they were factory made. They couldn't guarantee the quality tongue

If we just stopped buying China, then more business and more jobs would lead to cheaper prices! Wink Supply and demand!

thats not nessicarily true..i was in the garment industry for over 20 years and watched it go down due to the labor being cheaper over seas.. people in the us don't want to work for the kind of wadges that they pay over seas..i happend in the garment industry befor you knew it there were no more sewing plants people lost their jobs and now most of the stuff is made by sewing contractors most of which were people from over seas willing for work for lesser wadges.. I first had saw this happen to the company i worked for we had 30 sewing plants and i saw each one close causing people to loose their jobs..I would love nothing better than to see things made in the us..hey even Harley davidson is starting to make their engines over seas..not completely but some of theri products are..I can bet that their clothing will be mostly made there...just a post off my chest..not to offend anyone

Barb, I completely understand where you are coming from. I have a degree in fashion merchandising. It sucks that we have to deal with sweat shops and other countries wages being less then ours. Although, their minimum wage and ours is completely different. When someone says, they are getting paid 30 cents, that's 30 cents to our dollar. Since our dollar, today isn't what it use to be, things may change.

I just think if we Americans would just stop looking for a cheaper deal all the time, we might not be going through all the money problems we are in. Cheaper is not always better. You get what you pay for. I have to step on my own toes when I say this, too Laughing I was brought up in a low income home so I understand sometimes we have to buy cheaper.

Yesterday I bought a big cake of Ben Nye white to try. It cost me $9 for "color cake make-up" that acted the same as the $12 Face & Body paint the same size) Ingredients on the back were listed the same. It's 35 gm. I'll keep you posted. It is very flat looking, but thought with a little glycerin in the spray it may sheen a little. Will keep you posted, but interested in any tips, too!
