Haha... Shannon I empathize with your mixed feelings. I grew up on the Coast there and spent a lot of time at White Rock/beach. I know exactly what you mean. I think it's far better to live in near-tropical climes with a Corona in your hand. Or barring that, on a warm lake with sandy beaches, a beautiful view, and good neighbors.

ok - that is gorgeous.

My place is just one big fail.
Clothes, toys, tools and general crap everywhere.... if I have a clean surface it's a good day.... if I can't walk without stepping on crap it's a bad one.

I'm torn between being happy for you and hating your guts for living in a magazine.... I always tell myself that NO-ONE actually lives in a interior designed home, unless they have one of those formal sitting rooms that you never go in unless guests come over.
I should be inspired.... ... yeah .... nup.... fail I really suck at this whole house wife gig.

Because I have to say, as someone who lived on the beach... it isn't all it is cracked up to be ... We lived in a beachfront house from 1965 to 1970 In White Rock, BC (right on the border with Washington State)... I still remember the cold damp miserable weather, the storms, the smell of rotting crabs and seaweed under the pier, the greyness of the water...

Sure pods of orca and sealions and otters were out there a lot, but the tidal pools were dangerous - I stepped on a broken beer bottle in one and ended up in Emergency.

There were nice days... I think... but my strongest memory is the smell.

Talking about bright Shannon....
But I know what you mean, living and working pretty close to the sea (no orca here though)

Gorgeous! I keep telling myself in 17 years when all the kids have up and moved out my house will be clean again. Then I can get things that arent baby proofed/kid proofed/ teenager proofed...... but then come grandchildren!

Your home is an inspiration to what will hopefully happen here at my abode. Smile

I see your point of vie, the one think I definitely don't want to bring home from the beach is the sand, unless it is kept in a jar hahahaha

Gina I would love to come to your hose and decorate Smile

We do spend lots of time in that room, but toys must be picked up when you are done and brought to the playroom, it is a rule and they are pretty good about following it.
