That's YOUR living room? Not a magazine layout? Gorgeous!

So pretty and fresh. We are total beach bums around here(we can see the shoreline from my front porch!) so that's a look we love:) And it does look like a magazine layout!

That is BEAUTIFUL! I would feel too ashamed to post a pic of my living room. If it were tidy it wouldn't be so bad, but I have three very young kids who have lots of toys and no matter how hard I try the toys are always on the floor. Okay, so I don't try that hard anymore, because it's pointless... and to top things off, I have a preoccupation with face painting, balloon twisting, facebook and this forum.
But, I LOVE the space you have created. Going to my inspiration file for the day my kids move out of home.

Trinkie, I totally feel your pain! My living room is always covered with toys too. And my kitchen counter covered with my kit: paints, henna and balloons. And I have decided that learning face painting AND ballooning isn't enough, I am now teaching myself to do caricatures too. Hahaha! So now we have my books, markers and paper for that too.
My poor hubby. Heeheehee!
Someday I plan to have a happy place as serene and beautiful as this one.

Oh my goodness!!! I would like to duplicate your living room - including all accessories (where oh where did you get those starfish pillows??? ) in my own house please! I wish you could come and decorate my humble abode. Your room is so lovely, and calming.
Thanks for sharing!!!
Did I mention that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT????
Denise: That sounds like a dream come true!

Maggie, wow wow wow, it looks like it's out of a magazine. I love it. Looks like the beach house i stayed in last year, but much prettier than the rental! The white wouldn't last 5 minutes in my house, my son and hubby are much too messy
Re: Pictures of my beachy living room for Amber Marie and Kristen (1happy nut)
Absolutely GORGEOUS! What a cozy, calm and serene setting to enjoy every day. I am totally inspired to create my own beach room someday! You have fabulous style, mama!

Pretty design! How long did it take you to accumulate all those beachy accessories? I have been trying to collect beach stuff for one of my bathrooms which is blue and white too but every little silver seashell at deco stores around here is like $20 so at that price I pick one up once every couple of months. I think it is going to take me years to get a collection going on like yours. What a nice breezy looking space you have created.... a job well done! I love seeing into everyone's lives here on the forums... its a little bit like creeping but so interesting to see how others live/paint around the world!
Re: Pictures of my beachy living room for Amber Marie and Kristen (1happy nut)
To get shells, do what I did... go on a Caribbean cruise and pick them up on the beaches, then, take home in your luggage. Works pretty good.. you don't have to declare them cause you didn't buy them!

Thank you everyone!
Skidzz, you can come visit me any time!
Griffinblue, I would would love to have your view, my house is a ranch with beach house complex hahahaha
Thanks you Trinkie, we have a finished basement that keeps all of my kids toys.
Denise, I love the way you think
Kristen, those pillows I got them on sale at wisteria.com, they were $12 for a pair but I have not seen them in their website anymore.
btw how do you like thees little puppies
Thank you Eva, my couch and chairs are from ikea and they are slipcovered, they go in the washer and dryer and if I need to replace them they are $29 for the chair and $49 for the couch. I have had these for 3 years and washed them 3 times.
Jennvangogh, most of the shells are from the Bahamas, my husband goes there all the time and always brings them to me. The starfish and sand dollars I bought online and tjmaxx.
Marshalls and Home goods are great too. Sea glass I get at the beach, the kids and i love beach combing.
Think outside the box, my bathroom is beach styled too. I have my q-tips stored in an empty sea salt jar with a pretty label. I also make Christmas ornaments with my shells.

Re: Pictures of my beachy living room for Amber Marie and Kristen (1happy nut)
oh so SO beautiful.
You have me pining! (for the ocean, not the fjords )
I love the beach and ocean... that's my 'one day' dream... (as in, 'one day' I'll somehow live right next to the sea and wake up to the smell and sound of the waves)
*sigh*
So pretty, Maggie, well done!

Re: Pictures of my beachy living room for Amber Marie and Kristen (1happy nut)
I live by the sea and I can almost smell the sea from my house... but similarities betweenn your house and mine end here. Some distant day my living room was a serene and beatiful place but actually is a continuous mess with toys everywhere, bibs and rattles all over the furniture and daubed walls.
But it has its charm...
Yours is adorable!

It is a beautiful room Maggie.
You guys must be dreaming of tropical beaches...
Because I have to say, as someone who lived on the beach... it isn't all it is cracked up to be ... We lived in a beachfront house from 1965 to 1970 In White Rock, BC (right on the border with Washington State)... I still remember the cold damp miserable weather, the storms, the smell of rotting crabs and seaweed under the pier, the greyness of the water...
Sure pods of orca and sealions and otters were out there a lot, but the tidal pools were dangerous - I stepped on a broken beer bottle in one and ended up in Emergency.
There were nice days... I think... but my strongest memory is the smell.
