How do you clean/protect your 'practice head'?? Empty How do you clean/protect your 'practice head'??

Post by Ester K-D Thu Aug 04, 2011 2:23 pm

I've been battling with 'Matilda' for months...she's my practice head (with a 'skin' on top). I have tried spraying her with hair spray to protect against staining...I avoid Diamond FX and Wolfe black and white - I use Snaz black and white...other brands for assorted colours. Even though I work as fast as I can and as soon as I've taken some photos I wash her...she remains very stained. Does anyone have any tips? Hints? Suggestions? etc. on how to clean her or keep her from staining??? Plastic surgery???? *sigh* Question

Acetone and then get the residuals off with a Magic Eraser.

I tell my practice head to go take a shower. Wait, you're talking about the plastic kind? Not the 7yo child kind? Oh ok, sorry.

I'm so glad I wrote to ask...and grateful that folks are still replying to what obviously has been a question that has done the rounds! I'm going to try all these...she (Matilda) certainly can't look any worse! Razz

I sometimes use a very thin coat of snaz sparkle white first, especially if I am doing something green and it keeps some of the staining down. It does kind of mix in just a little, so I use it when I am practicing for speed.
