What type of signage do you display for larger events? Currently I have the following:

Designs
Prices
Line rules
Safety info
Service menu
Don't touch my stuff!

I think I should have more to draw attention to my booth??? Question

If the event ends at a certain time, a "Line closes at ..." sign is good. Also a end of line sign maybe. If you are being paid to be there and it is free to the company, maybe a "Face Painting brought to you by..." So they know you don't just show up for free anywhere. Smile

Someone here posted a really cool sign that had business info, a section to write in the times you will be at the event, policies, and the good manner zone. I ended up borrowing it and altering a few things on it. I then had it sent to Vistaprint to get printed on a banner. I can't remember who it was. But I usually just have that up and my business cards on the table.

It was Amanda's Elaborate Eyes who made the sign.

I've never needed line rules, don't touch, "I won't paint you if...". I say that when it's needed and that's always been enough.

I also never post my prices. Getting people to talk with us means they are in the booth. Once there, we can sell them. Not having it opens conversation. This also gives me the flexibility to change my prices if needed.

I have 3 banners. My business banner. 1 that is a photo banner of face painting that says "Face Painting by" and my website. The other is a photo banner of glitter and henna tattoos and says the same. If it's a sponsored event I have a "(Service- Henna, Face Paint, Temp Tat, Airbrush, etc.) available from _____ to ____, Courtesy of ________ to book us please visit..."

I find too many signs clog up the booth and make it too busy so they don't really process your info or what you do. I prefer to make it simple and let them come in to me to find the details.

I put up a 24x36 a-frame sign with prices just because I hate to dicker--
but I will rather than sit alone if somebody is looking & wavering--but it gives a starting point.

I did a bald mime head this summer & kidded with the guy that it was 3x the normal full face price because he was so intelligent, and had such a LARGE head (it really was!)...so he tipped me up to that price, even though I'd insisted it was a joke!
