Calling all Aussies :) Workshops in Australia?

Has anyone been to, or is anyone going to, The Australian Body Art Awards and Face and Body Painting Convention in Melbourne Feb/March 2012???
What's it like? Should I go?
And are there any other conventions, professional classes or workshops that I should consider? I'm in Victoria so Melbourne is best but it's possible for me to get to Sydney if there's something special happening.
What do the Aussies do to get trained up and inspired?

Hey Justine, myself & caro (another member on here) are going to ABAA in April 2012. We'll be travelling from Tazzie. http://www.australianbodyartawards.com.au/ It will be our first time there. We both think it's totally worth it. Check out the link for who's going to be teaching there. We've been to Sydney to do a Wolfe Bros course & Melbourne to do a Bec Anthony course as well, we did these last year. Bec is doing another national tour this year oct/nov. Look her up on FB to see if you can get in on one of her workshops in Melb. Pashur is doing 2 day workshops around oz. He's in Melbourne 21-22 Nov. the contact there is Diane Cook. perhaps google her name for contact details or go to pashur's website.

Ok, so I'm off to Becstar's workshop in Melbourne plus I've booked to attend EVERYTHING at ABAA convention next year.

Who else is going? I'll be on my lonesome But I'm sooo excited about going!

I just wrote a long reply and my daughter deleted it when I went to answer the phone! Grrr...
In a nut shell, 70 ticket holders, 7 days, dozens of classes (yes, really!!!), great Aussie and international instructors, whole day workshops, competitions, shows, and a pretty good deal on accomodation too.
can you tell I'm excited?

*sigh* maybe in 2013 for me. The time, distance and expense (including travel and accommodation) just make it impossible for me ATM. I will look forward to reading all about it and seeing some photos though!
