Who has the best neon rainbow cake? Empty Who has the best neon rainbow cake?

Hi all. I know there's a thread about rainbow cakes a little further down, but It seems to be more about guys making their own. I want to know who has the best rainbow cake, made and ready to use.

I use the Wolfe one, and I'm fairly happy with it, except I don't like that its in a round container. I find it a trick when you get to the bottom of the pot and you're trying to do a full sponge rainbow using just whats around the edges. There always seems to be unused paint going to waste.

Im in a venue where I end up doing a lot of rainbow stuff, so the pot always goes fast.

Who has the nicest that isn't in a round pot?

I like DFX. TAG is just as nice, but I prefer the color order of the DFX.

I have found that no matter if you are using square or round containers, you are always going to have paint left over. Some colors wear more quickly than others and when you load the sponge you put uneven pressure (I try to stay conscious of where the pressure is so that it wears evenly)
As for neon cakes, DFX is my favorite because of the price and square containers. http://www.facepaintforumshop.com/servlet/the-47/DFX-Neon-Rainbow/Detail
I dislike the light blue in the wolfe neon rainbow cake. Not the color, just its properties

I prefer the color order of Tag because it seems to break up the 'dark end' ...but tag or dfx

Hey Kat,
If your goal is to save money by making your own splits then buying the TAG 32oz neons and then making them isn't really saving you anything

I have bought the Wolfe FX rainbow cakes reccenty and absolutely love them. I do agree the round shape is difficult to use a sponge in but what I do is load half the sponge then the other half hoping I am wearing the paints evenly. Havent really thought about the end of the puck yet. I also seem to outline my sponge work with a brush at the ends so I even out the paint by using a brush on the higher colors. Maybe I will juat use a brush on the last bit of paint if I have difficulty getting the rest out I think.

I have a question for you guys in regards to the rainbow cakes though... I bought these rainbow cakes to do some of the great designs like eye masks etc. Once I got them I read the back and they all say keep away from the eyes and lips. What I dont understand is why is it that all the paints have these warnings on them but yet even their own advertisements for certain colours always seem to use them in their own pictures on the areas they tell us to avoid. I just bought my daughter a snazaroo set that has a demo book as well with step by step instructions and it did the same thing. Said no pink on the lips in small print but yet shows a picture with the pink on the lips. Sorry if this is a topic that has already been discussed as I am new at the forums and still trying to figure out where to post things.

I prefer TAG over DFX for the color combination I like being able to pick between pink or orange as the inner or outer wing edge.... I don't like using the purple edge as it can make the kids look like the have black eyes.
There still is wastage in the rectangle sized containers - especially the Tag as it has two ridges in the bottom which sh*t me sideways.

Jennvangogh I have seen a lot of discussions on the issues with color pigmentation - you should have a search for things like "No red on eyes" or "no blue on lips" or "color safety warnings" as it should get the threads up for you.
The short of it is - your eyes nose lips etc are orifices, all the pigments are safe for the skin but your orifices are much more sensitive so the red/pink/orange pigments can have a bad reaction if used n the sensitive skin around your eyes... same for the blue/green on your lips.
I have never heard of pink not being ok on your lips....... this sounds strange as all lipsticks are pink.
If you do a line of black around your eyes - using red should be fine.
Most people can use these pigments on their lips and eyes and it's fine - others it's not good and they get swelling etc.
Personally I don't like blue lips so that suits me - and with spidey and things you put white or black on the eyes so it's cool.
