Was wondering about the mica tattoos but replacing the mica with loose eye-shadow?
Same glue, same stencil, loose powder eye-shadow instead of mica powder

As long as the eyeshadow is a strong pigment (not a lot of filler) isn't it just the same thing?

I bought a high dollar black eye shadow and have been using is as my flat black choice for those that don't want glitter and I tried it on myself first, it lasted almost 10 days! and no problems...I have even used the powders from ben nye and it worked great. I can post pictures if you want

I thought the same thing about the eyeshadow but it didn't work out for me- (of course, I didn't use an expensive brand or anything). The color looked great, but then it seemed like the glue got really tacky after. Maybe there are oils or something in the formulation that wants to break down the glue? Coastal scents also sells little containers that are exactly the right size for the sample sizes. Or you could get one of these little bead organizers to hold your colors.

So last night I had a revelation.

My goal was to have 3 types of options for the faketoos
Glitz- glitter
Shimmer- mica with a pearl sheen
Matte - flat mica

I also wanted them in all the basic colors for each set

So... I think I am just going to get 2 oxide sets (http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/index.cfm/product/1499_34/complete-oxide-1oz-kit.cfm)
plus an 8oz pearl mica and add it to one of the oxide set to make all of its colors pearly. This way I have containers, a good amount and a pearl version of all the colors for the shimmer line.

You can also use henna with the stencils. It is super easy and another good option.

Here is a step by step I threw together. My daughter was thrilled!

For plain black temporary tattoos, I use Colorini with stencils. I find it works really well, and it's less messy than the mica I have. Very Happy

Metina - I'm so going to have to try that idea! I have henna and glitter tattoo stencils, so I can see this being a weekend Kammy-decoration experimental project, sometime soon. Wink
