How do you display your designs?
How do you display your designs?
Most of the time i'm painting outside, under an EZ up vendor tent.
I'm constantly thinking about better ways to display my designs.
Kids love to climb on my signboard holder (kind of an a-frame design)
Dogs love to lift a leg (ask me about the benefit i did called the Walk A Doggie Thon sometime!)
and when the line is long, people in the back cant see it.
i'm always on the look out for a better way that wont break the bank.

Re: How do you display your designs?
I had mine printed on a banner for about $40. Well worth the money, nice and organized, and I just roll it back up and put it with my festival equipment until the next big event. The designs are all titled, so they ask for the name of it and I know exactly which one they are talking about.
Re: How do you display your designs?
So those are printed on? That's pretty cool. I like how you can bungie cord them to the tent because it's so long.

WOW that looks really nice. i've thought about making my own banner
and hanging it like that. i'm still deciding. Each year i change out some of the designs and put up new ones, so i'd need to be able to switch them out. i was thinking about attaching them to a banner with velcro buttons.
still munching that over. but thank you for sharing!

Re: How do you display your designs?
i also just noticed that you have them grouped by price. smart. sure does make the decision making for the customers much faster.

Re: How do you display your designs?
Thanks guys! Yes, it's printed on. I designed it with Publisher and sent it to www.Just4Banners.com for printing. It does mean that I can't add or remove pictures, but I'll probably use it a few years and then order an updated one, so it's no biggie for me.
The price grouping really helps at events. Parents can tell their kids to choose from a certain grouping, and it helps them pick more quickly. Lots of people, as usual, ask the prices even though they are right there, so it's easy for me to indicate that "these are $5 and they go up from there".
I also have them organized within each section, so that cats are all on one row, superheroes on another, etc as much as possible. The only downfall is that it needs to be hung on a tent frame, but it isn't an issue for me since my select PPF events all provide tents anyway.

Re: How do you display your designs?
ANgie I love your banner!!
I am still working on mine!
I had printed a smaller banner with faces on it more as advertising, and everyone seemed to use it as a choice board (sigh.. why did I have to put on only the most detailed time consuming designs!)
I am now working on another one full of designs I actually paint at an event.. (still trying to convince my girls of 3 more face paintings)
Recently I have been using a blackboard with photos just stuck on.
Or at an out door event where I have my umbrella I have just been using a magnetic string hanging down the middle and sticking photos to that around the center pole.

Re: How do you display your designs?
I used Velcro to attach photo sheets to my banners ,then I can put the sheets on a ring for parties.
Re: How do you display your designs?

Re: How do you display your designs?
Thanks Barb that's where I got the idea -but I used Velcro so I could use the same pics for small parties .Do you roll yours up for storage? Do the pics get bent?
I was taking down in the rain nowhere dry to roll ,so did a few loose folds but I was worried about the pics. Everything turd out fine. Just wondering what you do?

Re: How do you display your designs?
I love all these banners! My husband and I have been thinking about getting a banner or two done. I wanted one similar to Angie's, horizontal like that, but with enough empty space under the lettering that I can attach picture holders like Kerrie and Barb. I usually use Vista Print for printed business stuff. Are the companies you used better or cheaper than Vista? Thank you so much for sharing!
Re: How do you display your designs?
Wow awesome awesome stuff, people! I am loving those banners! I am with chucklor2, would love to hear some recommendations on printers, as I use vistaprints also.
Re: How do you display your designs?
I used vista print also, didn't do much price checking.
I think I want to make banner holders out of PVC pipe instead of hanging them on my tent, last week I dealt w/ rain and wind and it was pushing the side of my tent in with the extra weight. there is a post on here somewhere that shows how to do it .
I would be able to put the banners on either side of my kit so I don't block the pics

Re: How do you display your designs?
I have a small (2'x3') banner printed. It has 3, 5, and 10 dollar designs on it. there are only 36 designs on it though so it is small. I just ordered hanging picture organizer. It is 6'tall and holds 16 4x6 pictures on each side. I went to Walmart and printed up wallets of each of my designs so I can hold up to 32 pictures on each side and I ordered 3 selves so I will just slip the price in at the top and that way I can change out my pictures as well as my prices as needed. I am pretty excited about it. I am still new to all this and like to change my pictures a lot. I will be getting them in soon and can post a pic.
Re: How do you display your designs?
www.just4banners.com is the company I use for all larger banners. You can choose the exact size you need, and their prices are very reasonable. I believe I got this 3x8 banner for $40. It's hemmed and grommetted, good quality and fast shipping.
Re: How do you display your designs?
Angie, that is an awesome price! I was getting ready to buy one for $40 but only words and 2x4!! Thanks for the website!!
Yeah, I only have mine set up in sheet protectors and they tend to fly in high gust winds...lol.....thanks for all the wonderful ideas, you guys!

Re: How do you display your designs?
I made a banner out of black canvas duck and sewed 6 rows of vinyl pockets on it. It's grommetted and I like the fact that I can display/swap out 36 5X7 photos but I don't like using colored stickers to indicate price points so I need to make smaller ones so I can have one for each price point. I'm reluctant because my poor sewing machine hates sewing vinyl something fierce!
Re: How do you display your designs?
I am so glad that I read this. I was getting ready to order 3 separate custom banners and they were going to run me $189 discounted!. I was thinking of more vertical banners with different prices on each banner though. I still think your banner place will give me a good deal though.
Re: How do you display your designs?
Got Print has pretty good prices on their banners too, and offer a wider variety of sizes than Vista Print. a 2x4 banner is only $16!
Lady Jayde: E6000 glue will bond the vinyl to the fabric if you don't want to wrestle with the sewing machine.

Re: How do you display your designs?
These are all great, I am slowly refining in my head what I want to do for our design display!

Re: How do you display your designs?
Okay, I have Photoshop but I am not very proficient with it. So, do you lay each picture out or put them all into one picture to send one jpeg image with?
Then you have the layout issues and the sizing for the right kind of banner. I need an easy tutorial online to show me hoe to do it....any suggestions?
