So I'm primarily a special effects makeup artist, but occasionally do face painting on the side for some extra cash. And my current method of displaying my designs is rather messy (printed out and taped to some foam board). How do you guys do it?

Search set ups, displays...you'll find some great "threads re: this, especially, Denise Cold! It's almost 2 years since I started & the help here is invaluable...so...
Here's what I've come up with:

1- Birthday (15 or <): 2 books- one/boys, one/girls.
2-  >15: 2 foam core boards w/laminated pics attached
by craft clay*. (Michael's) *Makes it easy to change out pics.
3- If they provide tent, I have an A-Frame that holds
one foam core board on each side, How do you guys display your designs? Img_0010

Using my tent >3 Hrs outside: got a white metal shelf from
Home Depot. Using another 2 foam core boards,
attached to shelf & zip-tied to tent leg.

*Just borrowed a laminator machine & bought the sheets to laminate all my pics & glitter tattoo signs. Rain destroyed most of my pics about 3 weeks ago.

I really had a great time getting ready for Summerfest this year because I took time to paint out all the fabulous full face designs I've been wanting to do. Then I copied them at 60% and put them on the foam core. It really impressed people when they figured out they were really painted. I like painted boards because when you use photos you can't really adjust and the model is 5 years younger or has blue eyes or a high forehead. Here's the ones I painted and then I'll show you the set up at the fair. The other option for quick designs is just to paint the options on the foam board directly. Reminds me of those restaurant glow boards:

I'm making a design board at this time. It is a promotional board, and I've painted the four sides in different colors. I want to stick mirror figures on them, and then velcro my faces and prices.
Not ready yet, when it's finished I'll show it here Very Happy

Denise, I absolutely love your ideas. I'm really intrigued by this photo. The images to the left of the picture where it looks like you're showing the areas of the face to be painted and the pricing / best value. Could you show me what you did there? I love that idea!

I'm never really sure how to split up pricing. Cheek art & one-sided eye art together at once price? Masks at one price? And then full faces? Or lump masks and full faces together?

I would also laminate your photos just in case it rains...then you don't have to re print..I had some put in sheet protectors it rained and the pictures were all messed up

I just made my display board bigger and better. My previous one was too confusing for some kids at a party when I had pics on the back. So I bumped up the size so to use just the front, along with info and pricing for those ppf events:) I incorporated ideas from some of you wonderful people here. Thank you. for the pricing with the color codes, I laminated that as well so I can use a dry erase marker to update and change prices per event. I still need to add the credit card symbols to show I take them too. (realized that today at event...lol)Overall I'm liking the room I have now. Just need to put something down the middle to connect the 2 sides to make it more stable. Maybe use that as more advertising or more faces:)...hmmmm

Yeah I got my 3 different sizes of butterflies. Itty bitty one by the eye. Which embellishments make it cover more area lol. Then the one eye butterfly. And the full face butterfly that you mentioned:)

Surprisingly the typical faces were not picked for this event yesterday. I was shocked not to do spidey...lol.
