First glitter fairies
Hi there, I have zero experience in glitter tatoos so, I was intimidated yet intriged when Pashur did a glitter fairy in class. So, I finally made a couple. Can't wait to practice some more! Be gentle all of you awesome glitter tat artists, I know they are messy but I will keep trying.
Re: First glitter fairies
I think that's beautiful!!!!! Very inspiring. Did you freehand the fairy body? Which di you put down first the wings or the fairy?

Re: First glitter fairies
Those look great, Jody! Aren't those the glitter tattoo stencil fairies that come with wings?? Do they come without the wings as well? Or did you freehand the fairies? Love your choice of colors!
Re: First glitter fairies
They are called wingless fairy stencils and then you just paint on the wings however you like. Pashur did one at the workshop I attended and sold a few packs there. I believe he has more on his website. Thank you all by the way.
Re: First glitter fairies
No, Jody...those are some of the best Pashur style I've seen. I like the green, it really adds some pop. Here's one that Emma and I did at the Summerfest...you might have seen it. I wasn't a big fan of the Tinker-type fairy until Pashur did her in class. She's a lot easier to use on young girls teeny, tiny arms.

Re: First glitter fairies
Oh I love that style Denise!! If you don't mind me asking, what do you charge for glitter fairies at PPF events? Did you buy those from Pashur? I need to get some more, I think they will sell well.
Re: First glitter fairies
Yes, it is a Pashur fairy. I didn't get it until he did one in class and then I loved it. I love the little dragonfly type wings. I didn't have time at the fair to fancy them up much. Pashur has a better picture somewhere. I'll try to find it.
I charge $8 for the combo fairies (and I do combo of turtles and dolphins and other appropriate tattoos) because I figure it's $5 for the glitter tattoo and then the same as a $3 design for the wings/waves/fire, etc. It also takes about 8 mins so that's how I figure pricing right now.

Re: First glitter fairies
Cool, thanks for the info. I think I am going to look into some more design ideas. Thanks!
Re: First glitter fairies
I'm confused.. Why paint the wings onto a glitter tattoo? Aren't they just going to wash off that night and then the person is left with just a fairy 'body' and then that isn't really a fairy, just a person that's a little pointy? lol...
I mean.. I love the idea, it's neat, but not sure why anyone would buy it?
I think that adding onto something like a flower, or dolphin would make sense..

Re: First glitter fairies
Well, the theory is that you can paint wings on them a second day like a multi-day fair etc. I've done it with regular fairies and it still looks good, you just add to the wings they already have.
It's flashy, different and a show-stopper. You're right though, I like the idea of leaving the client with a tattoo that makes sense so I've been working on adding painting to my regular stencils.
Someone just posted a Pashur necklace that was made with a triple star stencil...looked really cool. So, there are a lot of possibilities.

Re: First glitter fairies
Are there any wingless fairy tats that face left instead of right? I want to try these, but as a right-handed painter, I'd want to paint them on my stronger side!
Re: First glitter fairies
I know! I told Pashur that...that he needed it both ways so we could choose! I'll remind him again this week.

Re: First glitter fairies
These are the sweetest fairys I've ever seen...
Does anyone know if these are available in the Netherlands? Can't find them in my usual stores....

Re: First glitter fairies
I finally got to try one! Just got my glitter tats in yesterday and my cousin's friend is staying over so I got a built in volunteer, haha.
Now I wish it was summer so potential clients won't be completely bundled up this weekend!

Re: First glitter fairies
Would it be possible to use a fairy with wings and then paint larger wings so that when they wash off the paint they still have a fairy with wings?

Re: First glitter fairies
I created the wingless fairies for people who have trouble painting intricate fairy bodies aka fairy anatomy. There are 3 different styles..
A) Soaring Fairy - facing left.
B) Hovering Fairy - facing right
C) Tink Style Fairy - facing downward
Two options...
1) You can make the body as a glitter tattoo - and it lasts a week. As an upsell, you can paint a new set of wings each day. Fairy Wings, Angel Wings, Fiery Wings, Autumn Wings, Winter Wings, etc.
2) You can sponge paint (make sure it is not too wet) over the stencil, so the design will wash off with the wings.
If anyone wants to order any, just hit me up. You get 10 stencils for $6.00 + S&H.
