OMG I GOT A HUGE JOB!!

A few friends of mine have made some connections for me, and I got a job every Sunday painting at The Jersey Outlaws boat races! I am so excited I could jump out of my skin! I will be there for 5+ hours, and last week over five hundred people came out. So...any tips? I have my chair, table, tent, etc. Is there anything I should definitely have?

Sunblock! I always forget to bring anything not paint related! And then think my tent will keep me safe...then I end up with half a sunburnt face or something stupid like that! Congrats and have fun!

Congrats! You will do a fantastic job Don't forget to bring your own drinks and snacks. . . .they can get expensive out and about, plus you won't want to waste time waiting in line for a water.

Definitely sunblock! My husband commented on how tanned I got this past weekend, so much for my anti-aging mission!

Extra water, dump bucket, business cards, flyers, banner, paint + extra paint! chair for you when you get tired!, garbage recepticle, diaper wipes, hand sanitizer, paper towel, lunch, ??????

BAG FOR GARBAGE!!! It's no fun to discover that you have nowhere to dump the wrapper from your sandwhich, or any babywipes you use, etc. Most places have garbage cans 'nearby-ish' but they're never close enough to actually get there when you have a long line.

As said before - sunblock and/or a hat. water bottles for drinking. If you don't drink water in the heat, you'll get a killer headache. Take care of you and the rest will work out fine! Have a great time!
Oh, you might think about bringing earplugs - those boat races can get pretty loud!

YAY for you. That's awesome news I think everyone's pretty well covered everything oh except breathe & enjoy yourself. Maybe a camera for pics.

I don't have anything to add except a little advice. If you don't already know how to do stylized numbers and names, learn them fast. And learn who the popular guys are. (and where they fit in your price scale if youre charging)

I have a weekly deal at a speedway. Its a little different than boat races but the principle is the same. Once everyone saw I could paint their favorite guy's colors and number, that's all anyone wanted. And you can bet the guy/girl who can paint daddy's number on their cheek every week is a shoo-in when that kid's birthday rolls around. Motorsports fans are pretty loyal.

If you are doing this as a Pay Per Face type deal then I would highly recommend that you scoop up Terra Fender's Festivals 101 book. She put a lot of things I had never thought of into this book:
